Yes, that was, what i thought too. But several users has reported, that Windows 7 Beta will work after the expiration date of 07/02/09 without any problem.
@Gyrxiur: Do you use a legal key provided by Microsoft? Several users in a german forum posted, that the entry is missing on their system.
I use legal key and entry is here, but hidden, go to task scheduler > library > microsoft > windows > softwareprotectionplatform and on right column - actions select view > show hidden task and you will see that. Do you see it now?
Another question to locate the problem: There are two options. 1. Installing Windows 7 with a valid key and activate it online. 2. Installing Windows 7 without a valid key, entering the valid key after installation and activate online. Maybe we have to check this. I've installed it without entering a key during setup, because the key was only in my mailbox. I've entered the key later in control panel.
Yes, did I miss before it was said to be hidden? Anyway, why not just disable this task? Never mind, hopefully before that date we'll be onto RC or another build, and 7000 will be long forgotten. Interesting to see it though.
It would be easy. Just disable the auto update of the system time, reboot the system and push the system date in BIOS to a date after June. Maybe i will give it a try if i have enough time for a potential reinstall of the OS
