Linux will get telemetry as well soon or later, when they finally realize how useful this is, since no one want to fill in bug reports manually. I'm pretty much okay with that, as long you can decide to enable/disable it.
If you think Windows 10 is spying, wait till you see Windows 11. As rumor has it, for the system to work, you must have enabled your webcam & webmike, while a minimum of 50% of your ports must be accessible as backdoors. Any password must be submitted to and approved by MS. And any attempt to use proxies or https will automatically disable both system and Internet connection. It's logo will, of course, be an open window, or several of them.
@Chef: So true. Telemetry is a different thing all together. As long as you can turn it off, then it's okay.
Thank you all for your response. I did a bit of a research and those three tools seem to be the most recommended (two of which some of you mentioned to use as well): 1. Destroy Windows Spying (hosted on github) 2. Spybot Anti-Beacon 3. O&O Shut Up So what is your experience, which of the three is the best? Any problems with using it, at all? What about after Windows 10 gets an update, everything still works fine? Again, thanx.
@MS-BOSS sorry dude, but I think that you NO read correctly the sections on MDL if you at least try search you can find amazing tools for works with Windows 10 clean, fast, very good for games and principaly without NONE third party applications(including anti-something) only my 2 cents

You don't need us, just throw a coin for an answer to that one. Some updates undo my settings on irrelevant features, let alone those stopping the monitoring. You may have to keep updating the tools as well. Plus, an update doesn't expect to find the system altered, so what it will do if it does is a matter of luck. My advise has consistently been to disable all you can thru the settings provided and leave the rest alone. But then I'm a lazy cat...also a realistic and careful one...and not a paranoiac one on monitoring.
Create a cmd script that disables the relevant services. Make it loop indefinitely after a timeout period (in case they get sneakily reenabled behind your back). Run the script in the background on every startup. Search my post history. I made such a script to disable both auto updates and telemetry though I think it may have left out some services I was not aware of... I have been running my tablet on such a script for a few months now with the desired effects.
And when the paranoid brigade have done this and tried this and tried that (there have already been a million threads about W10 privacy/spying), you can then go using Google/Twitter/Facebook etc and happily play on your mobile phones, etc etc... Awaits answers of yes but, this is about blah blah this and blah blah that... For reference see the previous one million threads on this subject.
Aka "other companies do it, so bend over backwards for all other current and future companies to do it too; you aren't allowed to exclude any" It's amusing seeing the different ways people try to skirt around them just not caring about privacy, and then trying to rationalize it...
^ Ever so predictable answer and half quoted... Unlike a few at MDL I don't keep nuclear missile launch codes, state secrets, priceless works of arts and historical documents on my hard drive(s). I've read it all at MDL since the release of W10, how Microsoft make a list of everything on your hard drive, how they can look at your files, how they will store it all and in the future use this information "against you", how through W10 they can tell if you're running pirated software, illegal games, and the rest of the drivel that's been posted in the other million threads about this. This DOES NOT mean I'm an MS Fanboy as the paranoid brigade usually throw at anyone who holds different opinion to them. You never know, I may have disabled some stuff, used some third party apps, made Group Policy tweaks etc in my LTSB installation. However it does mean that some absolute tons of misleading guff and drivel has been posted about W10 spying/privacy in the other million threads about this.
No just use LINUX ! W10 is beyond saving regardless what the heads buried in the sand say. You can still use technology without comprising your security and privacy if you know what your doing otherwise.......... Got nothing to hide ? Send me your address credit card numbers bank accounts etc.
