As the release of 8.1 update 1 gets closer (April 8 is supposed to be the date it is released), what are the odds that MS will make a iso of 8.1 update 1 available ?
There will be a ISO, which is win8.1RTM+4MSU's, don't know ATM if MS will add the following updates to it as rollup, basically it's no difference with the one you merge yourselves, except MS could do a better clean-up job. And if it does got released on Apr 8, then Thurrott made a really nice big fluke, it's like being blindfolded and make a shot in the dark, and make a really lucky hit to bull's eye.
Huih ... one more speculation thread needed than the main one ? [BTW: Hold it like murphy78, bloggers can be a PITA....]
just updated with the msu that came originally from M$ and then created an iso (renamed and then script from here ty_vm) that installs on a vm. Murph sayz it is too big but I think not. 208 pages and we are def OK and M$ beta testers. Not one prob and tunes have no negative impact. Regards
I did what now? I've made a 16gig iso. I would not claim something is too big. I only offer that sometimes being too large is a huge downside, such as losing the ability to fat32 boot or fit on a dvd4.7 or dvd9.
FaiKee, thanks for the info. s1ave77, not really, that other thread is too depressing to read. Yeah, we all know that you can install the KB updates, and 'be good to go', or at least, that is what most people think (but we can't verify until it is actually out), however, since this update is supposed to "rejuvenate" win 8.1 to make it more ... "friendly", I would have thought that most OEMs would have had a ISO build with everything bundled and ready to go, instead of them rolling all the KB updates into their master builds, that is, if MS was going to do a new ISO. Or in other words, that other thread never said anything about MS doing a new ISO release with all the updates (up to April's 8th updates) so people can do clean updates with everything already installed. They didn't do this for win 7 AFAIK, so, wasn't sure if it would be done for win 8.1 update 1.
