hm.omg.. hard to moderate seems about right... i hope you close it, then. yen..save you & pinky a world of trouble.. all those spiritual/environmental discussions invariably tend to founder in personal opinions/attacks.. just my 2 cents. [ i think [sic.] the trouble is that we mere humans think far too much about such trivial things..we are not Mod, after all..]
What is the meaning of life? 42... no really it is 42! ( in Douglas Adams' book: The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, the answer to this question was calculated by a (now ancient) super computer over 100 years). Hahaha on a more serious note, what I did manage to piece together from my timeline on this ball of dirt and beauty is that WE are the aliens. We are what is wrong with this world. Example: Have you ever thought about how many things perished and/or has been altered/displaced/destroyed to create (for example) the keyboard you type on? Or the clothes you wear? I feel that we are planet destroyers by nature. Destroying for our own 'comfort'. Something tells me that we have done this before, and now again we are urgently in search of our next target (planet) to repeat this so called 'evolution'. This is my own opinion though yet I shall leave it suspended at the back of your mind like one of them transparent dangling carrots that silently itches it's way into reality, to ultimately devour the mind. Maybe what wiped out the Dino's weren't a meteorite. Maybe it was just our spaceship that crashed here... rinse and repeat. LOL, I just had to go all cult like with it....
On a smaller scale there's been colonialism since the beginning of time and cycles of civilizational collapse as well. The waste created for advancements of technology, automobiles, etc for most 'comforts' we enjoy is the price we pay. Stuff definitely doesn't last like it used to but it's nice not living in the stone age either.
The interesting thing about this question is that arguably - by asking it at all you will never get the answer. It's impossible to get the answer one seeks by asking the wrong question. Revise the question to address the essential impulse that compels its asking, and the answer appears.
"The law, in its majestic equality, forbids the rich as well as the poor to sleep under bridges, to beg in the streets, and to steal bread." - Anatole France
Depends how narrowly one understand "food"... If it also entails "the rule of (good, just) law(s)", then yes, this is correct...
What life? We are bred to serve, I intend to enjoy my life as much as I can, food, sex, alcohol, drugs, anything that comes along.
We are bred to serve? You wouldn't by any chance be open to learning and moving from Feudalism to Modernity, would you?
Life is like a Good Meal, u might never get it, u might want the universe to add same salt and spices to make it Better or make taste Contrast pop. conclusion: So u can live without it but its damn Tasty
