I'm currently using Debian Stable "Squeeze" with a few necessary packages from backports repository. Reasons for using the distro are very simple - 1) over time (I think Ubuntu 7.04 was the version that really introduced me to Debian and Debian-based distributions) I've become comfortable with apt 2) Squeeze still uses Gnome version 2.
Linux Mint "Cinnamon" x64 Why? because it's blazingly fast, particularly if you have a SSD. And it just works.
God teach this guys understand what is Unix operating systems. It is NOT unix. PCBSD is under Unix-Like operating system. hxxp://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unix Im using Solaris 11 as secondary OS.
Lol, c'mon m8, we all make mistakes, the guy installed Isotope and got carried away. Anyway, a.o. I run Ubuntu 12.04 and Linux Mint 13. Hey, I'm spoiled and terribly lazy...
Debian 7 Wheezy x64 with MATE desktop. As a server for Firebird and workstation for C++ development with Anjuta and GTKmm. Everything is cool with Debian
There are only four Unices (the plural of Unix). IBM's AIX, HP's HP-UX, Oracle's Solaris and believe it or not Apple's Mac OS X! Everything else, BSD included is "Unix-like". Often, BSD's are called Unix because they are not Linux, so people can't call them Linux so they wrongly refer to them as "Unix".
Recently replaced Mint Cinnamon with Crunchbang Waldorf. Like the 'minimalist approach' - love openbox. Still running Ubuntu 12.x (Gnome classic, hate Unity) on another box. yes true, in that respect (OS) things changed for the better after 'they' bought NExTSTEP didn't it... In GUI it is OS X, in terminal it is Unix.
I'll try solaris knows somebody if will function in Virtualbox?Because I don't want to uninstall Kubuntu, not anymore!
I run Fedora 18 on my Mythtv backend. It also serves a Mozilla Firefox Sync Server. I'm going to move to Fedora 19 but I'm still testing right now. On an older machine, I run Xubuntu 12.04 and I run Ubuntu 13.04 on my laptop. I don't like that Fedora has such a short life cycle, but I've found it easier to run than Mythbuntu. It's just my personal preference. Many, many others run Mythbuntu and if that's your thing, there is a lot of support.
