What Tool To Use To Flash An HP Laptop?

    hehe thanks! I have been searching all over Google. Closest thing I have found is someone on these forums who has modded the HPQFlash installer to remove the check.

    I tried that and it didnt work either.

    Sigh! :(

    My laptop is HP Pavilion Dv2700 CTO and i used PH161700 to flash my BIOS (flashed from Dos)

    jiriteach, I also has HP 8710w notebook. Can you give me your modded bios, I had some ideas how to flash bios, if one of they work fine I will write about it.

    Unfortunately it complains about being the wrong type of device.

    From that screenshot it shows you already have SLIC 2.1?
    What model do you have?

    I tried to follow one of the tut's that showed you can copy the marker data from one of the good bins and paste it over the 2.0 marker. In the 8710w bios, the marker stuff showed up twice. I pasted it over both of them and tried to flash, it failed of course.
