"alex kid" on a sega master system. it was build in (flash memory). i never saw the end of the game, tried ~20 times. it was many many hours long and really difficult (i never cheated my hole life!) first game i thanked god for having chance, time, needed synchronicity to just know about it and play the complete story was "X2 the threat" - "trade, fight build, think" best games ever: dungeon keeper 2 & counter strike source with GO4CSS (and self assembled) mod - one&only i still play today! play hard - die young
The first game I played was Prince of Persia (PC). Those are the times i was cautioned not to play games as they will cause virus infection .
This one's tough. Not certain if I first played a game in an arcade, or at home or at school. I do not remember knowing what an Atari 2600 was before we got one at Christmas so I don't think I played one anywhere else first. The very first game I played on that was the Blackjack (21) game, followed by Combat. If I played an arcade game before that, it would have to be either Asteroids or that other Ray-trace game where you shot at tanks. If I played on the computer at school first, it was probably either Oregon Trail or some Microzine BS. Or Math Blaster. I will say that the game that "changed my life" and was the reason I wanted an Apple IIe was Karateka. I remember playing it before class in 3rd grade on the computer in the room. The other game that "changed my life" was The Bard's Tale. You see, I was into computers but I only played Apple (I had a //c and there were Apple ][e s in school. My Dad had his work computer at home instead of at work- an IBM PC AT with a 40 Meg HD- and was always trying to get me to start using the IBM because it was, as he called it, a "real computer". I had The Bard's Tale for my Apple //c and one year my Dad got me The Bard's Tale for the IBM. It took a little while, but one day I decided to try it out on the IBM. Wow. It was SO MUCH FASTER. Not load times, but actual walking around and whatnot. Plus I didn't have to swap disks. Never looked back.
Super Mario Bros with Dunk Hunt on NES in the 80s. I wish it were more exciting than that, but that is what my very first one was, ha ha.
