Hello, I have some questions if some is so kind to answer : 1) I have Office 2016 VL, but I install only Word and Excel: how I can know what updates to download and what are useless? 2) the Office updates are the same for ALL laguanges or I have to download the right languages in a Office update? Thanks in advance!!!
1) If you installed Pro Plus, you will need all updates (except project and visio) to be sure, check for updates though WU (remember to enable Microsoft Update option) 2) Yes, all updates are for all languages
@abbodi1406 There's something wrong (incorrect naming?) with NDP48 folder in 7x64 repo: NDP48-KB4503548-x86-x64-ENU.exe in repo is KB4503575 refresh internally. Actual NDP48-KB4503548-x86-x64-ENU.exe (around 52 MB) is missing. ndp48-kb4503575-x64_6c25d7b9595000a2575fd1596e70341234df7bfe.exe in repo is KB4532941 internally ndp48-kb4532941-x64_3220ceb5d24711680ceb3dfef6d7847305185ea2.exe in repo is KB4533005 internally (superseded) Also, according to Tasks.txt, latest dotNetFx48 WA addons are updated to 4.8.4115.0, KB4532941. However (as per incorrectly named ndp48-kb4503575-x64_6c25d7b9595000a2575fd1596e70341234df7bfe.exe in repo), KB4532941 is 4.8.4110.6. It is the KB4503575 refresh which is 4.8.4115.0, so not sure if any correction is also required for them.
@Reducer Fixed, thanks redownload the list (and probably delete the wrong files) i know, but the rollup is usually tagged with latest rollup number using KB4503575 might cause confusion, specially since the refreshed status is not announced clearly anyway, thanks again
@abbodi1406 Sorry I've checked today, but url for KB4503548 is still wrong, it downloads KB4503575 instead
Greetings! I am trying to deal with this Windows 7 madness, is there a solution yet? What is the problem with extracting cabs btw? Can't rar and a million other utils extract cab files? I have done the patch to enable updates to install, now all I need is a script or utility which will download and install updates as they occur automatically. I have a ton of clients on Windows 7 on older hardware which would not make sense to upgrade to 10. Besides, I personally hate 10. Maybe by the time 2023 arrives, there will be a better alternative to Windows 10 is what I'm hoping! 8) These forums are all so many and so full, it is difficult to know where to go to simply get updates on the most recent solutions. I've been a member here for many years. Thanks to all!
The tool offers all current updates, for 7/8.1/10. Most, if not all, tools/threads have all needed info at the OP, this one too, but at the download thread.
- Yes, I saw this but passed on it as I can see the original creation date was from years ago and it looks like the recent update was last year? Pardon my ignorance but, is this just an update downloader alternative to normal windows update which functions the same after ESU has been patched? I know the OP usually contains info linking to the most recent version/information of something but have still been overwhelmed as it seems so many tools and scripts, many of which appear to do the same thing, exist. Can this process be automated similar to the normal windows updater which is now defunct? I see in the dox I can set extraction paths but don't see an actuall "install" function. I will play with it fully in a bit after some other updates finish. Thank you for the help!
It's a hotfix download tool, to download the updates and the lists are maintained when updates are released. There is not one other tool like this on MDL. To install the downloaded updates you can use any desired tool but @abbodi1406 made some Updates Integrator scripts: WHD-W7UI & WHD-W81UI & W10UI
Ok, so there's no all in one download and update automatic tool yet then, correct? Anyone working on one? As for the "can't be updated offline" bit, the computer must be online to install the downloaded updates? WHDownloader tool downloads the updates and the various other tools & scripts install them? I'm running WHD now and was hoping to, once it has downloaded everything, copy the downloads to other computers and install them. This can be done, but computer must be online during install, correct? I'm good at scripting but am just hesitant to delve into figuring all this out and writing a script when I'm sure someone else is working on a more automated solution and will do a far better job than I can. 8)
For 7 there is simplix updatepacks, a fixed aio updatepack to online/offline install updates. No, for WHD-combined with W7UI or W8UI you can simply follow their instructions and copy the downloaded updates (containing the folder structure of the WHD download session) and run one cmd to do all for you when disconnected from internet. W10UI only needs the downloaded updates next to the cmd and it will install them online or offline. WIth updates installers/integrators, online means on a running (aka live) system and offline means pre-integrating into a mounted wim file.
