Another hiccup for this method: Windows Update only recognize SP2 it does not recognize integrated post-SP2 updates, and will reoffer all of them i guess because unlike NetFx updates, Office patch don't add any specific info about the update itself when merged with msi file, it only update files and components installing the patches later (manually or via WU) will only add the missing registry info for them, they won't change or update already installed Office files or components i tried to add some registry keys to "fool" WU about installed patches, no avail. one way to solve this is to bump the repacked updated msi files' ProductVersion above 14.0.7015.1000 (SP2 version), which will suppress all WU Office updates (i.e. they become not applicable) same thing could be done for Office 2013 post-SP1 (when the final updates reached)
Dear Prof. @abbodi1406 does downloading Microsoft Office with your amazing script YAOCTRU include the latest updates that would be offered by WHDownloader? Similarly, does making and downloading an updated ISO of Windows 10/11 with UUP dump website include the same updates that would be offered by WHDownloader? Regards
WHDownloader offer Office MSI updates YAOCTRU download latest Office Click-to-Run two different things
@abbodi1406 I got a question about Windows 8.1 update. The KB5012170 was removed for All Win10/11 Editions. But Win 8.1 update list still has this update file, And I found the latest LCU KB5027271 already has the updated files.
Dear Professor @abbodi1406 thank you very much for your amazing script installers of WHDownloader's updates. I can see several options in WHD-W7UI for installing extra features and updates; however, there is no option for installing the NET48 base and its accompanying updates. 1) Do we have to install them manually? 2) I think it would be nice if you could add an option in WHD-W7UI for installing the Net4.8 and its updates present inside Additional>>NET48 Folder and the Security>>ESU Folder. 3) I did manually install the base and the two updates inside Additional>>NET48 Folder; however, I can not install the two NDP48 updates inside Security>>ESU Folder. Is it normal? How can I install them please? Kindest regards.
@tf you are welcome 1) Unfortunately, yes 2) 3) NDP48 updates inside Security>>ESU folder require .NET 4 ESU Bypass (or standalone dotNetFx4_ESU_Installer) that's one of reasons why i didn't add option for it in WHD-W7UI
Thank you very much. I tried the standalone dotNetFx4_ESU_Installer; unfortunately the two .Net updates do not get installed. I extracted the content of the script to a folder with simple path, moved the two .NET updates inside Security>>ESU folder to the script folder, run as administrator the dotNetFx4_ESU_Installer.cmd, I get the following output: Code: Adding MSI hook . . . Installing update(s) . . . ndp48-kb5027129-x86.exe Failed. Error code: 1603 ndp48-kb5028586-x86.exe Failed. Error code: 1603 Removing MSI hook . . . Finished. Press any key to exit. My OS is Windows 7 ThinPC with all available updates installed with your script WHD-W7UI, and I manually installed the Net4.8 and its updates present inside Additional>>NET48 folder
1) Unfortunately, yes 2) msi file is updated "modified" with msp, it's normal to lose digital signature, and it's not an issue 3) i will think about it
Dear Professor @abbodi1406 two questions please: 1) Is Windows8.1 list better than Windows8.1-update3 list for it does not contain a bunch of pre-installed updates which might be superseded? I mean in terms of applying WHDownloader updates, do you think installing the original Windows 8.1 iso is better than the update3 iso? I guess this is the reason why you make the labour to maintain two separate update lists for the same Windows version. 2) It is very strange Microsoft bother creating hotfixes but not offering them to customers through WU, does the amazing WHDownloader and your script installers are the only option to get and apply hotfixes? Just out of curiosity, how Microsoft offers hotfixes apart from your update lists and WHDownloader? Kindest regards
@abbodi1406 I got a question about "KB2534111". With KB3125574, I should use the Windows 7 SP1 images without KB3125574 Because KB3125574 already included this update. But When I use "WithoutKB 3125574" on Windows7-Legacy, Inside "WithoutKB3125574" folder I don't know which update replaced "KB2534111". Or I should use the Windows 7 SP1 images with KB2534111?
KB2534111 was never available for download it was replaced by some update long before KB3125574, but i don't remember which update Monthly Rollup or Security Only KB5011529 replace KB2534111
