Hi, Alphawaves. Many thanks for useful software. I like it a lot. When i select 'Options > Check for Windows Updates', WHD shows "Unavailable: This option is currently in progress" (Windows 8.1). It's a bug, isn't it? Can you make WHD check update files in 'Download path' first, then only download update files missing. Thank you!
So for example, when I integrate the office updates into iso, than those office updates will automatically applied after installing the windows and office 2013? Or should I also integrate somehow the office 2013 installer into the iso?
After updating Office iso with updates, use this to install your updated office into windows.. Not in Hotfix list..
question, once we have iso made of either windows or office can we reopen that iso and add the future updates to it then make another iso with the new updates?
hello , i have a question , - if i Use this program and update win7 /win 8 iso and at later days i download new windows update using this program and If i try to update the iso will it auto detect all previous update integrated in the iso and integrate only the new update OR will the program start integrating all updates again from start (all previously integrated updates) thank you for this awesome program , helpfull
That is a good question. If it doesn't I suggest that a feature to be added for it to do so. Maybe adding a file that list the updates integrated on the ISO somewhere.
Does anyone have a list of Net 4.5 updates for win 8 and 7. The reason I need them is that I have installed 4.5.1 and so I do not need 4.5 updates. However, I have downloaded them from the WHD and it would make sense to delete them and not have them on future installs of 8 and 7. I could of course do it myself by fresh install of 8 and just noting down the 4.5 updates.
Here are all the Win8 .NET 4.5 updates you can remove if you install the latest .NET 4.5.1 update: KB2737084 KB2742614 KB2769674 KB2803755-v3 KB2805222 KB2805227 KB2828842-v2 KB2840632-v2 KB2848799-v2 KB2861702 There are a couple .NET 4.5 updates that aren't completely superseded though (like KB2862064 & KB2889893). The Win8 repo will be updated soon to reflect these changes.
Thanks a lot. There is no point now to removing 4.5 updates in a working 8 install with 4.5.1. However, I will delete the above updates from my hard disk. For future fresh installs, I will just install 4.5.1 upfront and install the rest of the net/windows etc updates as usual. Last checked, Net 4.5.1 is not an automatic offered update in win 8. So perhaps the repository does not need to change. The list is great as I think I save >170-190MB of disk space from deleting 4.5 for win 8 updates.
Glad to help. Well, there is a point in removing those superseded 4.5 updates, if you want to free up disk space and remove unneeded clutter. But yes, definitely remove them from your local repo for future installs. 4.5.1 may not be automatically offered, but since it contains the latest component updates, it'll be added to the repo (soon). I've been holding off a bit since many people are upgrading to Win8.1 and the new 4.5.1 could potentially cause problems when upgrading to it (and it's not needed for Win8.1). That 170-190MB of disk space is a big reason why you'd want to uninstall those superseded 4.5 updates (in addition to deleting them from your local repo).
Thanks PointZero. On my local repo, I saved 190MB on win 8. Considering that the source is backed up in 5-6 places, that is 1 GB. Plus I also have a win 7 repo (from my usage till late-2012). That saved me 125MB directly and another 600MB on backups. Uninstalling updates did not save much on C: but anyway should save on future installs. As it is, hard disk space is not a constraint. But as a matter of principal and also for elegance sake, why install unneeded updates.
Is by any chance going to add a feature to the utility to automatically remove superseeded updates from default locations (and maybe windows?)
If you are on Windows 8 and you want to uninstall superseded updates use Windows Update Cleanup from the Options drop down menu (you can also find this option in Disk Cleanup tool a.k.a. cleanmgr.exe built into Windows 8 and now added to 7)
Is the mcrips server down or is just me? I've been trying for a few hours now and tried to ping it from our VPS as well.
