Thanks for the reply abbodi1406! You are right. The filename in the original distribution is "outlook.exe".
Speaking of which, would it be possible for WHD to maybe automate the part between downloading the office updates and integrating them into the iso/folder. It would be awesome if it could meaning you could use it to dl the hotfixes and then depending on if you've selected the folder or not it would take the hotfixes or prompt you to locate where the hotfixes are and then you could go through and process them into the iso/folder. I know there's probably other tools to do it, but be cool to have it in one especially when its got the beginning and end already done.
"proof.exe" is the correct name for KB2737985. But if WHD is not seeing it as being downloaded, then Alpha will need to take a look at that. Note: KB2737985 is an update specific for the Turkish language, so if you don't use that language, it's not crucial to install it. As Abbodi mentioned, WHD uses whatever name MS uses in the update and there were a couple weird ones this month (ie, "proof.exe" & "outlook.exe"). Hopefully in a month a two, those updates will be replaced by MS with ones with the standard names.
Small Suggestions A couple of small suggestions: Display a count of the number of updates for each update type in addition to the total count of updates. List the last change date for each update list, so you can quickly tell when / if it has been updated. Also, I find that WHD does not remember the "Download Path" and on each restart just uses the directory in which it is being run from. The value of "DOWNLOADS" in "settings.ini" file does change to the chosen download path (when it is changed in WHD) but it then reverts back on subsequent runs of WHD.
I see the problem with this one now. WHD was working perfectly, but the updates list had an incorrect name for that one. An updated list will be uploaded very soon. Thanks for those other suggestions. Alpha will take a look a them. But for now, you can view the date/time of the update lists in the "UpdateLists" folder. The date/time on the files shows when they were last updated.
Im aware of some problems in WHD: 1: Update integration (fixed) 2: Save download location (fixed) 3: Some wrong file names in update lists (fixing lists) 4: Deselect updates (fixed) Added convert to WMC Will release new version later today..
Using WHD, I downloaded office 2013 x86 updates and got it downloaded. If I look into the downloaded folder all are in the format of exe. When I try to install it it is not recognising the exe files. Looks like it supports only msu or cab files only. Any suggestion in this regard.
Have you updated yet because all I see is 4.5 beta still? I'll come back later and hopefully grab it. Thanks for all your work Alphawaves.
Hi alienvi. What you need to do is extract the MSP(s) from the exe files that WHD downloads. You can use the following switches: Code: /Extract:[extract folder path] /Quiet
As on date, 24 Dec 2013, Office 2013 x86 downloaded is 1.91GB consisting of 65 files. Besides, the installer should be able to automatically skip updates which are not applicable to office 2013 version installed.
BOSS, Will WHD support office update? Pl clarify. With the download features of office updates in WHD, I hope there is way to install. I downloaded Office 2013 x86 - 65 updates to the tune of 1.91GB using WHD, all updates are downloaded in the format of .exe. (including two exe file download reported earlier). Finding difficult to update using the update installer option. Will this office update feature updates based on the version of office installed. Thank you so much for providing such a featured facility. Thank you once again
They are that large (partly) because they include all the localization files for all the languages Office 2013 supports. Previously, when WHD used McRip's servers, it directly downloaded the MSPs (not the EXEs) for only the language you selected (i.e. you could filter by language).
