In WHD 5.0, office 2013 updates functioning typically:1. For office 2013 x86 updates, Folders (ex. Hotfixes, General....) are created during download time but are not available after download ends. Think all downloads are put in the same parent dir Office2013-x862. Office 2013 x64 updates, not creating separate parent folder dir Office2013-x64... Looks like using the x86 directory only
WHD and WUD I use Windows update downloader (WUD) to download updates obviously, but since I got Windows Hotfix Downloader (WHD) I saw that its downloader has more updates, like plus 250 updates, so someone can tell me the reason of it, maybe a few updates are there because those were for Windows before SP1??, WUD is obsolete??, WHD is trying to annoying me??....the Universe is against me???....WHAT is it?
WUD list is only the security updates Windows Updates publishes, WHD list is ALL updates and hotfixes (the kind you DONT get on Windows Update) since the release of SP1
I'm a bit confused , after downloading all the updates Office 2013 x86 and refreshing the list, it still shows all the updates. Isn't supposed to show the updates the haven't downloaded and/or new ones updated... Or there's a missing options that I haven't checked? Any help
That will happen only when .msp extraction is used, other wise downloaded updates are highlighted in green. Without changing all the file names to .msp's which some people dont want (they want the .exe's) its not going to happen just yet. No plans for Office 2010.
Did check the option but still it shows all the updates even thou I've already downloaded it, and downloaded again all the updates
I've downloaded the latest version (V5.1), why there's no update list for Windows 8? Only Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and Office 2013
Because it's too much work for a small user base that should've already switched to Win8.1 by now. Let me ask you a question- what's preventing you from switching to Win8.1? It's similar for Office 2010. Neither burfadel, abbodi1406 or myself use it so there's no motivation from us to maintain a repo for it. But if somebody wants to do it (and knows how to do it), send me a message. If you check the option to extract the MSPs, WHD deletes the original downloaded .exe updates after extracting the MSPs from them. Since the original updates are deleted, WHD will not see them as having been downloaded the next time. If you want WHD to detect that the updates have been downloaded previously, uncheck the "Extract MSPs from updates" option. But then you'll need to manually extract the MSPs (or just use those original .exe updates).
WHD > Options > Updates Installer NOT WORKING???? Downloaded W8.1 x64 updates, selected all, Next selected - Options > Updates Installer > the screen goes blank But in status bar, on clicking install says "No updates added" Any one facing similar problem while installing updates?
Just an Idea [Request] Can we have the option "not to delete" the original downloaded .exe after performing the "Extract MSPs from updates" option, in the next build?
I've sent you this via PM but I will post here as well -------- Hello I feel cheeky asking this but my users have asked me to ask you anyway. They are wondering if I'm allowed to use your update lists within WinToolkit. The downloader would look similar to yours minus the extra menu with tools. You would obviously get credit, in fact it would be named after you (Alphawaves Downloader or similar). If you are willing to provide a paypal address, I will add a donate button so my users have the ability to send you donations. I would only need the URLs to the download lists, your permission and possibly a paypal address if you accept donations. Thanks, Liam, Legolash2o
