1. There are some updates that also have updates and the installer throws that error. Look in the updates folder for files with name in this pattern "filename.msp" and "filename[1].msp". Rightclick on each and select Properties, go to Details tab and compare the first line from Description. Should say: Title Patch:something:some.numbers. Compare them and keep the highest number. That should fix that error. The installer just throw the error but continues the install, thats why you have a working product installed. 2. I don't think there is some updates released in 2014.
Hi Alphawaves, I was updating a Windows Vista from scratch, while I added some languages, I have noticed that all lang.ini files won't be modified. I did it by hand and it works fine. I don't know, if it's a fault of M$ or a mistake in WHD?
Thanks for info moonwalker698.. Ill do a couple of test for Vista language integration and if faulty will fix.. Edit: Can i ask what languages and Vista x??
Of course, I use an English version of Vista (x64) with SP2. I add German, Russian, French and Dutch languages. After integration, all lang.ini files are unmodified.
I re-downloaded all updates as a test, using ver 6.4 I deleted my previous updates & copied over the new updates into update folder (should not have made a difference but) I authored the ISO by using poweriso. I noticed the file sizes of the iso to be different, even though having the same files in the update folder which was previous ISO with error 126 GB as opposed to the new one which was 123 GB for the x86. I may have to re-do the ISO for the x64 as well since I do have a feeling it has a problem. As for the 2014 updates I saw a few out for 2010 & 2013 on Jan 14 Now i have used this program before to update my Office programs, I believe it was v 5.2 but the ISO created didn't start properly, now this. I will re-create an x64 & compare the two to see if there are any differences.
Hi, don't use crap software as poweriso, to make a bootable DVD or USB, use this program! Why are you making a DVD with all downloaded updates stored on a DVD (I don't see any sense of it, store it on a external HDD)? In my opinion, leave the updates separated of your Office (except the msp files in the update folder)/windows installations.
LOL what am i thinking.. I forgotten about Vista integration support (completely overlooked).. Ill add support now for it..
UwHello, it´s possible to explain what we need to add NetFx integration. Maybe i should download framework 3.5 offline install ? Thanks and sorry for newb question. n @Alphawaves, thanks a lot for your great software.
@Alphawaves: don't sweat it, you will find that some people are like that and all they do is demand demand demand things and do not ask politely. I guess they lack of respect for others. This app is handy for me as I like to download all the updates and save them so when my next re format/install I do not have to waste time in downloading GB's of updates. A lot of people really appreciate your time, effort and app. @ianymaty: I was going to say something to you but I wont waste my breath. Keep up the good work Alphawaves.......
Great words FCM168! Such as me, I like this tool so much too. I do my best to support people here, even for future development of WHD. So, Alphawaves don't give it up!
@Alphawaves: Please, don't get disappointed. All I want is to help. Let me try it one more time. Yes, I know the option to extract after download was enabled. I was presenting the behaviour of the program in different situation with the same goal (extract msp from exe). There was no demand there. I wanted the program to be consistent and logic in behaviour. I want you to look at this as a suggestion to improve the program and user experience not as a demand. You decide what is good for your program, I just give you feedback and suggestions. I thought and hope you are open to suggestions to improve things. Regarding those suspicious files, I did some research and found that they seem to came from a Huawei wireless modem that I installed. The problem was that I don't know how they get there. Even if I deleted them from Hotfix folder they reappear after an Office update download. I watched the folder content multiple times. I delete the files and one Office update, than start the program to download the missing update. Every time those files get to the Hotfix folder after missing Office update download. You should have said that you don't know those files and don't belong in that folder so I could do something. Not geting an answer from anybody, I just asked again. Moving on, I found them also in Appdata\Local\Temp folder. After deleting those files from AppData they not come back in Hotfix folder. That fixed the problem but I don't know why they were always get to the Hotfix folder after an Office update download while they were still in the AppData. Thank you for your cooperation and looking forward to improve this piece of software. @FCM168: You jump the gun too soon. I felt your breath but good that you didn't waste it. Leave it there.
