Little help here please. I want to make an ALL IN ONE ISO for Windows 8.1 with this tool. When I go for the AIO tool and click it I have the question: "Would you like to create a UEFI enabled ISO image?" What I need to know is that: What do I choose here? Do I choose to make an UEFI enabled iso or not? What does it means? What is the advantages/disavantages in making the iso UEFI enabled or not? Oh. Nevermind. I clicked on the wrong button.. my bad guys..
Actualy, there is an UEFI option on the AIO tool. What do I choose guys? Do I mark the UEFI button or not? What are the advantages/disadvantages on that?
Ok but what does it mean if I have an motherboard that doesnt have UEFI support? The iso will still work? Another question: I see that there are no ei.cfg files on WZOR ISOs for windows 8.1. How can I make an AIO iso for windows 8.1 and be abble to install without the key during installation?
Afaik it should be able to boot under both systems. Win 8.x ISO don't have an ei.cfg by default (in opposite to Win 7), you'll need to create your own: Code: [Channel] Retail [VL] 0 Make new TXT file, paste the above and save/rename to ei.cfg. Put into \sources\ folder of the AIO ISO.
Thanks guys. Thats what I did here: [Channel] Retail [VL] 0 Now Im, building the AIO-ISO with "Windows Hotfix Downloader 7.3". Lets wait and try it on virtualbox... I didnt mark the UEFI ISO. Is that ok?
Please, correct me if Im wrong: 1_ Im building an AIO-ISO for Windows 8.1 without UEFI support on the ISO, so: a) The iso will work on system with UEFI support; b) The iso will work on system without UEFI support. and 2_ Im building an AIO-ISO for Windows 8.1 with UEFI support on the ISO, so: a) The iso will work on system with UEFI support; b) The iso will not work on system without UEFI support. So, if I make an ISO without UEFI support should I be ok with any system out there? Am I correct?
Thats correct yro. UEFI systems should have no trouble booting regular ISO-s. Sometimes one needs to choose CSM or Legacy mode in BIOS but thats not always nessesary. Go for Option 1.
Thanks Tomorrow. Im building the aio iso right now without uefi support on the iso. So, If I build another aio iso WITH uefi support, the ISO will not work on my motherboard that has no uefi support. Is that correct? Or the ISO will still work without problems? If so, then I think the best way to go is to build an UEFI ready iso, right?
Hmm, not sure whether Alpha handles this differently, but by default MS ISOs hold both options (boot in Legacy [BIOS/UEFI] and in Secure Boot [UEFI]). That way they will handle all scenarios. Whereas without that option there's no way to boot in Secure Boot, needs to changed to Legacy in UEFI then.
so, whats the best way to go? make an uefi ready iso or maki an not ready uefi iso for my aio win 8.1? considering that this iso will be used in legacy motherborads and maybe in new with uefi option.
Well I made some google research and I figure out that making an UEFI ready ISO will be the best way to go. I made it but now I have a big problem. The iso file size is about 4.8gb. Not fit on an blank DVD. What can I do to make the iso fit on the DVD?
no way... anyway, thanks for the answers dude. Ill burn the x86 and the x64 isos in 2 dvds and have some fun later.. no win8.1 aio for me for now...
