You must click "Filter Office Updates" before you select which language you want from the drop down. I know that it downloads the updates for your OS, but if it downloads just the updates needed after SP1- that is unknown. Alphawaves will need to chime in here.
Ive just realized I hadn't applied ANYCPU to this application, so for any x64 users using functions other than the HotfixDownloader you may run into problems.. Sorry will update to v2.0 tomorrow.
If you do calls around System32 is really cool to apply the DisableWOW64FSRedirection / use SysNative folder or change the architecture to AnyCPU, may have problems with cross platform updates installation...
If i update my winodws 8 (64bit PRO WMC) using this great app do i have to reactivate my win8? Caz m using a pireat copy. Thx for this great app.
It will depend from Microsoft, not Windows Hotfix Downloader... Anyway the most genuine checks is made by the Windows inside the '6.2' kernel.
Yes, I did that, but the language selection box which appears after that is blank. M. Sorry, my mistake. Following your instruction did work. Thanks so much. M
UPDATE I select the update I want to remove (updates shown in green and turned blue when selected) and i click on "Options>Deleted Downloaded Updates" and the selected update(s) will disappear from the list but not from the folder. When I select the Windows 7 x64 updates from the list and it shows the files I tried to delete. I am using this from my internal storage, not from my (main) C: drive. WindowsHotfixDownloader.exe = D:\Software\OS\Windows\Tools\Alphawaves\WindowsHot fixDownloader\2.0 Deleting updates in this folder = D:\Software\OS\Windows\Tools\Alphawaves\WindowsHot fixDownloader\Updates\Windows 7 x64\Main Updates
Thanks a lot Alphawaves. You keep making the best software even better. I really appreciate the constant development and support of your software. Keep up the great work.
Cleanup finally working...anyway to have it reboot only if (errorlevel) needed? A reboot is not always required, if it does not find any superseded updates or if a update is not a driver based update with a INF it does not ask to reboot
I updated my freshly installed Windows 7 SP1 x64 system yesterday using this tool but the Windows Update showed me a lot of updates. Should I hide them all or just a part of them? And BTW the update process took me 5 hours to complete is this normal?
