As title says, when are they going to stop this from happening? I've had this crop up again and again from Windows 8, 8.1 to 10 original rtm and through to now. it even happens when there is no corruption of the component store. 1. i never had this happen on small hotfixes, only the massive ones, they always fail on the reboot with the undoing change message, it's frustrating... 2. before they switched to all in one hotfixes i didn't have this issue. i don't have any issue with office updates, they always install just fine....
Of course they dont care about fixing bugs, they just care about silly social media s**te, if you want an ol fashion desktop os then you are SOL. Little wonder LTSB is popular.
