I bought a new computer with Windows 10 Pro on it, they gave me no key code but got it from Belarc Advisor, then created another partition downloaded windows 10 Pro to that, in settings, it says windows is activated, my question is, will it still be activated after anniversary, or do I need to change key code now to default key for Win 10? It's a Dell XPS 8900, I'm afraid it's a OEM

I thought I had this figured out, but now I'm having real doubts, I've used all my keys on other computers, so now I have new computer with no key, Redstone 1 is still Windows 10, maybe I can upgrade on 1 partition, get digital entitlement, then clean install on another partition, same computer, would that work After thinking about it, doubt it I think I stepped in something When Redstone 1 comes out, can I upgrade to it, no clean install
I guess it depends if the background process recorded your machine id on the digital entitlement for win10 activation. If it did, I suspect that it will be activated when you upgrade. If not, I suspect that it won't. I'm not entirely sure if the machine data was sent during the opt-in situation or not. I wouldn't get your hopes up on that. If you want to do the free upgrade, do it now. Don't wait until it's over because you'd likely be disappointed.
I really should not admit to this, but it may help someone, I was scared to death I would lose activation on my new Win 10 computer, I got no key code with it, OEM, the more I thought about it, I thought I would have to buy Win 10 when Redstone 1 came out, oh this really hurts, I forgot when I first got computer, to get rid of all the bloatware, I reformatted and put another copy of Win 10 Pro on and stayed activated, the moral of the story is I'm a fool, and if you put Win 10 back on same computer with OEM, you should be OK. This is a little off topic, but in the last week, I made a very big mistake and told someone who said they were going to build a computer in Sept I think, that he could still upgrade using the free upgrade, I changed my post to say No, it would not work thinking he would see it and ask again, this is killing me I can't find the post, do not remember the thread name or his name, I was hoping someone in Admin position could e-mail him to tell him I made a big mistake, if anyone see's the thread please let me or Admin know so we can correct my error, thanks.
