How does someone know which key windows 10 is activated under?
I ask this, since there is a original win 8 key which was updated with the win 8 media pack key, so, which key did win 10 activate under, or did it use the BIOS key?

BIOS has win 7 ultimate key, win 8 key is pro, the media pack key is also pro I assume.

Right, I know that I have a windows 10 pro key now, but, I am looking to find out which key was used to activate windows 10 PRO.
In other words, did the activation first check the BIOS for the win 7 ultimate key, and use that, or did it check the win 8 or the media key and use that?
I assume I have 1 or possibly 2 licenses here.

It isn't capable of using win 7 slic2.1 "bioskeys" so it is the key which the win 8 MCE (aka Pro-WMC) installation was activated with.

If you upgraded or used a key from a previous version, you will have a digital entitlement.

Windows 7 oem slp keys are not stored in bios. There may be an oem provided slic table, but slic tables do not contain keys.

Well, for what it is worth, I did get a digital entitlement, and used the win 8 media key, and that worked fine.
Another person told me that I could use the original win 8 key for another machine if I wanted as well.

The Windows 8 key isn't used for activation, just for digital entitlements. If someone has a key they're willing to burn, they can check (in VMs) if there is a limit to how many entitlements they can achieve with 1 key.
