maybe not using 8 gb but even if it's using 3, it should be enough to work on a 80-pages document with just text and no images... I mean, what could cause this issue? It just doesn't make any sense! Especially because other people here didn't experience anything like that,so.... with office 2010 x86 on the same machine I didn't any issue like this... so the fact that it is not using all my 8gigs ram is not a good point in my opinion... it should just work!
Got the same problem as you..Navigating a 238 page word document, and it feels sluggish...Specs: i7-2600k with 12 GB DDR3...Switched to the x64 for the moment, and it works buttery smooth with large docs..will have to wait for a performance improvement patch for x86 2013..hope it will resolve this problem
LOL, but yes I use 32 bit one. Because 32/64 OS compatible with 32 bit and simply I don't do much work on my office, so 32 bit it more than enough
Office2013x64 on Win8x64 for modern computer, 2008~2010 Office2013x32 on Win7x32 for single-core-CPU computer, 2004~2008 Office2010x32 on Win7x32 for very old computer with USBflash-virtual-RAM BUT without using paid softwares
The reason is that what you want to do with your office work. But always using 32 bit Microsoft Office, if available in release, is economic way to enter your productivity world. Even though on x64 Windows platform, 32bit applications are taken over by WoW64 layer (similar but different from WoW32 for providing limited compatiblity for 16bit apps) consume some system resource, but comparing with pure 64bit version of Microsoft Office, the cost is relatively less. And 32bit version still offers something for maintaining compatiblitiy with old version of office, as you referenced.
Windows 7 64bit with Office 2013 64bit... The double precision and the compilation optimization does make a huge difference, especially in Outlook.
