I have a dual boot 7955/7989, i can see the difference, i confirm again : 7989 faster than 7955/7850/7600
I have a dual boot windows 7 sp1 and windows 8 7989. i can confirm its faster than windows 7. i tried installing Avast internet security but give me bsod so i switched to nod32 and everything is running fine
Thanks for the feedback i used windows 7 betas for 6 months before the RC come out so i was thinking about testing out windows 8, but i do play a lot of games so im sure if ill change to it yet
depends on the games. i use 7989 as primary OS and the only games i'm playing are CS:S and the old caesar 3. Had some minor issues with the last one but all solved now. It's only 3 months until the beta I think so I'll try some more games later
I also dual boot between 7 SP1 and 7989. I won't trust windows 8 with being a main OS until public beta or RC.
Same setup for me. Although I have been using 7989 most of the time. I find that 7989 is faster than Win7 sp1.
I have a 7989 VHD, Ill probly do the same with all upcoming leaks, beta, rc. Ill update when rtm leaks
I use 7989 as Win8 main OS. With the latest Nvidia driver is not working AERO and all DX10/11 application. Apart from this problem, everything is fine. Very fast loading OS and responsiveness UI. h ttp: //forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=203483
It runs flawlessly. Seems way faster than Win7, at least when starting applications. (Phenom II 1090T/MSI 890FXA-GD70/16GB DDR3/HD4870 X2/OCZ Vertex 3)
Use the 270.51 or 270.61 drivers and everything will work fine. 270.61's cause a BSOD on logoff sometimes, where 270.51's don't seem to do this.
Im dual booting between Windows 7 and Windows 8. When I'm at work I boot into Windows 8 and work the whole day with this OS. When I'm at home I boot into Windows 7 because my wife has to have access to same legacy things which I don't want to reinstall every time a new build leaks ;-)
Yes sir I am..I enjoy it manly because it is much faster than win 7 and I like the UI taskbar convienance...I think the only thing that is missing is a timebomb remover. I am sure that the beta will have the same issue.
I have a question. I was wondering how many people here have an actual partition that they installed Windows 8 to and how many people did the clever thing and boot to a VHD instead? I installed WAIK, imagex'ed the install.wim to the VHD and used EasyBCD to create the Boot-to-VHD entry. I have every version of Windows 8 on a VHD on my drive. I have Windows 8 7989 at the top with Windows 7 below it and every other one below that. VHD's are the cleanest and simplest way to use Windows 8.
I have a dual boot between Windows 7 and Windows 8, both on seperate partitions. When I'm working in Windows 8 and shutdown the system the system shuts down (duh). When I power up the system I don't see a boot choice, it boots directly into Windows 8 ... WHY? When I'm working in Windows 8 and reboot the system the boot choice screen appears and I can select wether I want to boot to Windows 7 or Windows 8 ... very strange ...
