I cant disable hybrid boot. I know its better. But its all grayed out but its enabled. Another thing is that i cant run some games which requires Games for Windows Live becouse Games for Windows Live dont work. I installed it but i cant run it and when i run games its says "Failed to initilize Games for Windows Live " any tips
offcourse i tried that but it simply wont start. It shows black window with game text etc. But it closes after few seconds without doing anything.
You are talking about Microsoft Games for Windows - LIVE, correct? If so, I am already downloading it and testing it out. EDIT: Installed fine. Running fine. Downloading a Demo now, FUEL, to test. imgur.com/OzUBW.png EDIT #2: This really should have been posted as a new thread. I will only communicate now by edits to keep the rest of the posts on-topic. EDIT #3: My system uptime so far is 4 days in 7989. :] It's stable as all get out for me. EDIT #4: Installed, and played just fine. No problems here. I haven't updated my drivers from what Windows wanted to use. I have played every game fantastically so far, even Red Faction Armageddon.
I use it on a VHD partition more than i use Windows 7. But it's not my primary. Anybody that uses a beta OS as primary, no matter how stable it is. Is a moron,
Thanks but i dont seem to have that option in my 7989 hxxp://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/405/captureavz.jpg/
You just called a lot of people in this thread a moron, not very nice of you. Just to let you know, this is not a beta it's still an pre-alpha/alpha. As far as using it as a main OS, why not?
Thanks it worked. I solved my problem with Games Live. I have Program Files on different partition than Windows folder. So i changed all ProgFiles parameters in regedit to point ProgramFilesDir (and other relevant stuff) to D:\Program Files and not C:\Program Files. This works for all games, programs, everything. Even works for Microsoft Games Live on Windows 7. But Windows 8 seems to have problem with this but only with M.Games Live. Other stuff works great.
Yes.. I'm running 7989 as my primary O/S and yes it is faster than win 7. With the new features that it has it is much more user friendly with the new UI task bar..I really like the new task bar options..I can't wait to see what the beta is going to look like and see what new features it has.
Using as primary on laptop, ... 7989/RP1.4.0/ ..... two problems: FF 5.0.. crashed and now is dysfunctional, will uninstall/reinstall, and recommended Nvidia windows update failed but video is fine with windows 8 drivers. Agree response is faster than 7, activated by phone n/p. Also using 64bit Iexplorer w/adobe beta flash without issues. thanks to all contributors
