My guess: Exceptions will be made for special machines being fully offline, or connected to Intranet in a way so they cannot reach out to and cannot be reached from the public Internet.
Standard users are fine these days using a 10 year old PC (+ SSD). They can surf, write emails and letters, watch youtube, play mini games. Why purchase a new one now ?
I am waiting for the news where next Windows 12 will require 2 TPMs and 33 thousand secure boots active and a drop of blood to authenticate you everytime.
Microsoft? This is happening everywhere! Did you know that cell phone service in 2012 was already 4 G? There were agreements between Korean and US corporations to slowly introduce first 2 G then 3 G then 4 G then 5 G then 6 G. Everything has been around for a long time! It's not profitable to introduce new technology until the old ones are worked out!
Is there a thread devoted to Microsoft Pluton, or is the Pluton subject a part of the discussion about TPM? Sorry if I missed it.
If I could give you multiple thumbs up for your post, I would. I feel like were constantly pushed into buying something new because somebody, somewhere wants to artificially convince us that we need to do that, so they can make more money. Capitalism at work...
