Chrome gets the VP9 videos, while Edge gets the H264 ones. The latter are HW accelerated while the former does not. Just use the h264ify extension and you will get the h264 videos in Chr as well.
Use monitor resourse to see which files are wrriten to or read constanly might give u idea what make this
Thanks to all the helpers. I ended up doing a clean install and all is well now. I'm sure it was probably some third-party driver update. Keeping things clean.
