    Not at all.

BUT I'm old enough to forecast how a thread like this will "evolve".

So I just wanted to prevent the usual rightist blabla, which add nothing intelligent or productive to the discussion.

So, obviously nothing against you personally, but I hate the pointless propaganda made of prebuilt slogans.

  2. I don't get why some people (at least here in the US) like socialism so much, people need to learn from history tbh. My parents lived under socialism and it sucked. Capitalism may not be perfect but it sure is better than socialism and every socialist country turned into s**t lmao. So no, an economic depression wont make people have less trust in capitialism, but again it depends on the person.

Yeah in a place where the KKK is still legal, the assault weapons can be bought by a teenager, the death penalty is still a thing, some people are richer than entire states while a lot of others can't afford even the most basic health care, the problem is that ^some" people like socialism.

In the mirror universe of Start Trek that sounds just right.

So it's all capitalism's fault? lol. you know politicians can pass laws to deal with all of that stuff

(And imo some criminals do deserve the death penalty, ever heard of that saying (well bible verse), "live by the sword, lie by the sword".

To put it mildly, It's fault of the rotten version of the nowadays' capitalism.

It's plenty of countries that while not being proper communist or socialist, have a tamed form of capitalism that surely is way better than what US (an countries that ape them) have.

Sure, at least the politicians I vote, not sure the ones you vote.

    Yes, in western movies :rasta:

Come on! The bible (I mean the old testament that the Americans always mention) is such a mess of wise and idiotic sentences, shaken, not stirred :D, that can be used to demonstrate everything an the opposite of everything. Just trash that book, and if you really want to be a Christian read the second testament.

  12. You're not wrong about that, most politicians don't care about people

  13. I agree with the first one, I think capitalism turned into (a form of) corporatism nowadays, that's why those giant companies turned into corporate empires (a good example is Micro$oft), but I disagree that capitialism is the reason why the KKK is still alive or that a young person can buy a gun.

The second one, so China's system is better? Or are you refering to Nordic countries where they're a social democracy (which if my memory serves me correctly it's a form of capitialism and socialism)?

  14. Also, I remember my parents telling me that Americans that support socialism most likely don't have a clue of what it is. And well, they're right about that :)

OMG !!! ........ I say something as self evident as that and you ask me how !?!?!?

After writing ---- > ' Also, I remember my parents telling me that Americans that support socialism most likely don't have a clue of what it is ' !?!?!

Quite obviously you dont know what socialism is .

I didn't get the joke, that's my fault sorry.

And I know what socialism is, my parents lived through it. Maybe you don't know what socialism is. While the definition of it sounds nice, socialism isn't government handouts. In real life when it's always tried it's a endless dictatorship of the proletariat, take a look at the remaining socialist countries...

And also, if socialism is so good, then why do people escape it, and why is there more capitalist countries than socialist countries. Maybe learn from history :roflmao:
