The average users are the same users who mostly choose to buy new PCs (Even before Windows 11) because they don't know how to upgrade their current PCs or will buy new laptops because most laptops aren't upgradable.

People like you and me who know how to upgrade their PCs also know how to hack the Windows 11 installer

I always use my mom as the benchmark. She keeps hardware forever and would gain literally nothing from Windows 11. I would also get endless phone calls asking how to do the things she did in the past that have changed between 10 and 11.

The problem is as I said to (acer-5100) ,Maybe we can run Windows 11 fine right now in July 2021 but sooner or later they will add new features for Windows 11 (not only the security features) that can't run on older CPUs and motherboards especially if their manufactures stopped supporting them, So don't try to install Windows 11 on her PC.

They didn't make comprehensive changes to the architecture of Windows 10 because they wanted to convince people that they can now leave the Windows 7 train, but with Windows 11 the situation has changed and they will gradually add new things that will not be able to run on older hardware.

Yes, We can now go around the block and install Windows 11, but they don't want to open the gate for everyone to install Windows 11 and then shock them in the middle of the road with the fact that their devices are no longer supporting the new updates, So they warned them from the beginning .

In my region we are used to say "why get wet before the rain starts?"

Assuming that purposely slowing down the system (as you envision and find normal) is a thing, we are in 2021, if in 2023 or 2024 our PCs will turn to something too slow, we will upgrade the HW in 2023/23 (or just format and use a decent OS, no matter if LTSB 2016, Q4OS or whatever)

    1200AF / 1600AF are supported as they ARE Zen+.

    CPUID signature has proved this:
    Code:
    800F11 Summit Ridge
    800F82 Pinnacle Ridge
    810F10 Raven Ridge
    810F81 Picasso
    860F01 Renoir
    860F81 Lucienne
    870F10 Matisse
    A20F10 Vermeer
    A50F00 Cezanne

The 1200AF / 1600AF share the same CPUID signature as 2000-series (800F82), therefore, they are supported.

"Microsoft Backs Down: Windows 11 Will Run on Any PC
One of the most significant sticking points with Windows 11 is the strict system requirements. However, Microsoft has just announced that any PC can install the Windows 11 ISO, opening up the new OS to just about anyone who wants to install it.

Windows 11 Running on Older PCs
Microsoft is mostly sticking to the original Windows 11 system requirements, though the company did add a few more processors to the list of supported models. However, the firm told The Verge that it would only enforce restrictions when upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11—a fresh installation with a Windows 11 ISO would have no such restrictions.

Of course, there’s no guarantee that Windows 11 will run well on older PCs since Microsoft is optimizing it for newer, more powerful computers. However, at least you’ll be able to try for yourself to see whether it’ll work. Microsoft also said it intends for this workaround to be used by businesses that wanted to evaluate Windows 11, not so much by regular users. The company doesn’t even plan to advertise this method to consumers.

You’ll still need to have a 64-bit 1GHz processor with two or more cores, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage to even think about running Windows 11, but at least your PC won’t have to fall into Microsoft’s stricter list of supported CPUs."

not sure what features won’t work on an x86 CPU. AFAIK Windows 10 works on any computer with a suitable amount of RAM and HDD. Drivers may be an issue for sound cards, Bluetooth, network chips etc. It depends on the motherboard.

My just-replaced 2012 i7 was working perfectly fine on W10. Not sure this will change with Windows 11?
