Once Windows 8 proves it can handle my apps, I'll upgrade my desktop. I'll keep my laptop Windows 7 for now as well as my old laptop which still runs Windows XP flawlessly.
Perhaps you have not even used win 8. No matter how it does with apps, it certainly installs faster than win 7. On my Intel SSD, this is like 4-5 mins lesser to getting the start screen and getting to work. That is what the original poster said `it installs faster' and I back that. Even on a hard disk, it installs faster.
Even though my language knowledges in mindless drivel are really bad, thanks for clarification. Btw, board-rules definitly state the use of ENGLISH as communication language here. Regards
The money machine for m$ has the sheeple wanting another better OS than they have already, (weather that being XP or Se7en) I for one have a pc that has all the best bits to run eight Latest motherboard for win 8 16gb ram 8 core processer have set eight up with a start menu ported from se7en, with all the programs I use with se7en, antivirus, burning, multimedia etc..... BUT as to changing over to eight......... I dont think so, even though I needed to patch se7en for it to run eight cores as it should
He does seem to have hit the nail on the head with his comments, had to use xp the other day, it's a bit of a pig when you compare it to windows Vista, 7 & 8. I had never realised how much I have got used to things like snap, and my memory of it was that it was really fast but in fact I have seen faster hedgehogs . I'm still loving 8 and it's just going to keep getting better.
one major concern is that the whole OS is optimized for lower spec machines/tablets - hence a large proportion of comments around the web state that the OS is faster BUT for the OC Beasts running 4 cores/8 threads @ 4.5+ GHz with 16GB+ of ram and sata III SSD's it is a tad slower when running full 3D applications, Photoshop and multitasking + VRay rendering is definitely slower. Of course it is faster for running the "Apps" (amputated applications) which lack severely in functionality.
For now I am going to stick with win7 it is polished and reliable I have win8 on a vm but I feel they should have left the start menu and aero intact, giving the individual user option of running metro or start as others have stated i feel like there forcing me to use metro ware as it should be my choice
Well we will have to wait until January to see how good or bad the sales of windows 8 have been. But if surface is any indication they will be good but people do seem to forget the west is still in recession. But Benioff is right about increased use of cloud services, however some of the things he has come out with are complete rubbish.Benioff said. "I see Coca-Cola as a cloud company, I see Toyota as a cloud company." I'm really sure they are not.So we shall wait and see.
