Dual-boot Vhd live hardware without trashing win 7 Mce For TV Something happen to 8 delete vhd start Again
Already using it for a month as my primary OS. The start Menu is indeed confusing and not very mouse friendly, but it works faster than Win7 and has some amazing features which makes it much better. Still unstable however, blue screen and sleep/hibernation problem. Metro apps are not stable also.
Has been my primary OS since RC stage. I am in front of a pc most of the day and not missing W7 at all. Took me 1 week or so to get used to the new Start, not a big deal, but it seems that many members of the called "pc enthusiast" comunity are too pus... well... not "bold" enough to try the change, ironic.
So u got a bad experience with win8 and u find some kind of relief by trolling around? Thats fine, for a silly child. But seriously, i havnt had any problem with Windows 8, so I fail to see the "pain" sorry.
I've been using it as my only OS since the RTM come out i don't like the start menu i just use Start8 and i don't care for the ram wasted whats 30mb when you have 32gbs , In my books even with the cons its better than 7.
Ur point being? How many fixes and patches have w7 got from its release untill now? What about XP? Just grow up and accept the fact that not all the ppl shares ur tastes and preferences. As imposible as this seems to u, there are ppl, like me, who actually like the OS and are happy with it. U dont like it, and that is freaking fine! But quit the childish trolling when someone has a different opinion to u. And btw, ty for the "Young" part lmao, there is apoint hwen that becomes a compliment.
Haha, today I received the message in Store, that 5 updates are available. I clicked top right corner where you can launch the update function but only 4 updates were shown and could be installed. So 1 is still remaining right top. When clicking this, it says "No Update available" and on the Start screen, Store says 1 Update ... lol
I've been using it as my main OS for a while since the CP came out, just love it faster cleaner and more stable. Can't be a bad thing at all. Showed it to my teenage nephews, first thing they said, wow it looks like the dash board on the 360. That's 38 million people already familiar with "Metro UI". Looking forward to seeing the full app store, suppose to launch with 3,000. And have 100,000 around the new year.
Fanboys are never reasonable. But reasonable beta tester are _very_ important to improve an unfinished product. And they are cheap, you know. ;-)
@everyone: Post like men or shut up. Windows 8 runs great in my machine and that's the only fact I recognize. I don't listen to statistics, I go for the real thing, and it's good. Copying other people's words is just lame, I doesn't matter if they are important in the computer industry, they don't decide for me, they don't have the power to influence my mind. Before switching to 8, I had 7 installed. I liked Windows 7, it's a Windows Vista with tweaked superfetch behavior, a new display driver model, and less ram comsumption (all nice but expected improvements) I decided to try Windows 8 because my computer's hard drive is crap. When it's spinning, it introduces micro stuttering on everything I do. In my first minutes on the new system (it was the consumer preview), I had a though time using it. But as soon as I adapted to the new way of doing the same stuff, I started to love it. It's too late to Windows 7 fans (I insist, it looks like many of them didn't try Windows 8) to "change" something. 8 it's on rtm stage. Let me give another real life example (lol), it takes place in gaming world: When Counter-Strike: Global Offensive was in the beta, players from older versions of the game (specially from 1.6) started to criticize the new game. They wanted CS:GO to be a copy of 1.6 and that's stupid. GO is a new product, it doen't have to be like like 1.6, or Source. I understand that some PC users have to do important stuff (using a machine to work) and Windows 8 may not be the best OS for them. But most people use a computer to search porn and playing videogames.
Other. for now, eventually I will need to keep it as first boot choice. It's growing on me, I click what I want in metro at log on and off I go (and so does metro heh)
