Is there any (maybe a easy manually) way out there to disable the update forced from win 10 home? I really love my win 10, but in this case i want more power on my machine. Regards Debin
There are two ways to disable automatic updates for windows 10 home. First, if you use wifi on your computer you can set your connection type to Metered. Settings>Network & Internet>(scroll down to) Advanced Options. Turn on Metered Connection. You have to update manually. Second, if you don't use wifi, you have to disable Windows Update in Services. Services>Windows Update. Double click on it and first Stop the service. After it stops, on Startup type choose Disable. You have to reverse this when you want to check for updates.
Thank you. In fact i use Internet by 3G and also by wifi....how to to? I need a solution for makes me able to select what, when and if i want to install a Update. Regards Debin
If you use 3g and wifi first go to Settings, then click on Network and Internet. On the right side of the page scroll down to Advanced Options and click on that. Next you will see Metered Connection. Click on that to turn it on. It will turn blue and say On. This will stop Windows Update from automatically downloading. Next download Mr. X's tool to check for updates and hide the ones you do not want. I tried a lot of registry tweaks and O&O ShutUp10 to stop Windows Update from automatically downloading. None of them worked on Windows 10 Home. The only thing that worked was setting the metered connection to On. I also use MR. X's tool to check for updates.
So, setting the metered Connection to ON + Mr. X´s tool, mean will solve all about my Problems? I will have a try, thank you so much.
But you still deserve credit for your work. Even though the tool does nothing more that what WU can do and only looks different.
