Microsoft discovered that the setup.exe /product server command could bypass the installation restrictions for non compatible PCs and patched the setup program. I guess that option 1 works the same way and hence no longer works; that's why option 3 could be a better choice for the Fixkit.

So if I'm doing clean installs should I also use option 3 now when making the bootable media? Or only for an upgrade from within windows

Option 3 works for clean installs and upgrade.
But this is not the correct thread; better to go here : Win 11 Boot And Upgrade FiX KiT | My Digital Life Forums

This is new method to use since MS squashed old.

Mount image: open command prompt at mounted image.

enter: ?:\>setupprep /product server (? being the mounted drive)

OS will load as Server edition.

enter: ?:\sources\setupprep /product server (? being the mounted drive)
But in a near future, MS will patch it

Option 1 still works for me, only in vbox the chipset needs to be set to ICH9.

I did somewhere post all still working options a week or so ago:

ps, server 25987 also still installs without any need for a fix.

When I heard the news M$ was tightening loopholes in non compliant computer installs for the 25000 series, I wonder if "THE FIX" was still relevant (as its my preferred go to method - just perfect).

Looks like I have nothing to fear - MANY THANKS from us poor people who cant afford new laptops every few years.

If I use the fix #1 and install this iso on a compatible PC who wouldn't need it, could it cause problems given the additions to the registry??

Option #1 doesn't modify the registry. It modifies the installation type of install.wim/install.esd.

    Mirror is down btw.

Windows 11 itself now cries "warning, a script from the internets!" when running the script.

The download works if you click on the Name and not on Mirror

The name is the discord upload, the mirror is my gdrive folder deleted containing many TB's of SVF(SFX) and ISO files and tools.

This is very annoying, I understand you. It's really disgraceful that someone deleted it.

I have an updated Win 10 Pro install to 22H2 with all Windows updates applied. I have run Dism and Scannow to make sure no files were damaged, and nothing required repair, (I have run included fix failure batch file) It is hardware activated.
I have more than 50% free drive left and I have been using my fixed 23H2 iso to upgrade from Version 4 but I am getting this message and cannot get past this: "Modern Setup Host has stopped working" and then it closes the ISO install, but it is still mounted. I tried (more than 10 tries) again this morn and it just stalling after downloading updates, at make sure you are ready to update, please wait with the swirling wheel... (more than 20 min) Modern message not appearing and Progress screen not showing.
The machine is a 4th gen Haswell refresh with an I7 and 16 GB of RAM and the drive is an SSD. I know I can install clean but that is not the point.
Any ideas on how to get around this, I have done hundreds of upgrades with the tool but this is the first one that has done this.
