@Enthousiast, Thanks for the tweaks 2b fix. With offline integration (directly in install.wim) it worked great when proceeding with Inplace Upgrade. EDIT: Tested with 24H2 26100.1591 build
So does Win 11 Boot kit make a modified ISO that you then have to make install media out of or what? And if so, what program do you suggest to make the install flash with? If I am totally wrong about this please point me to the written procedure of what to do.
1. Get a Windows 11 adequate ISO image 2. Apply the kit 3. Use te generated ISo to install Windows 11 by creating a boot device or by mounting the ISO and execute setup.exe.
For myself I just use IoT 11, but I have a business client that this would apply to and my question is would you have the burden of doing this at least every 2 years, because your hardware is still non-compliant and will still never auto version upgrade?
I went with the 5.0 and it was a nightmare.. I kept downloading from mega and I was unable to do anything...lol.. Someone else had that issue a few pages back.. boom... used another link and its installing windows right now. Thank you guys!!
@Enthousiast: I have to get this off my chest, your tool is great. I've been using it at least twice a month since it started and I haven't had any problems with new installations or upgrades using the default settings. Thank you very much for your great tool.
Hi @Enthousiast. Could you help a bit of a beginner here. 1) I have an unsupported (No TPM 2.0) computer which I upgraded (in place update) via a mounted Rufus USB drive to 23h2. This all worked fine 2) I create a RUFUS USB drive for 24h2. I mounted this like I did for 23h2 and ran setup.exe again. This time it didn't pass the TPM check. Can you help walk a noob here through what I would need to do to an in place upgrade of my 23h2 to 24h2. Many thank in advance
1. Modify a windows 11 iso of your choosing using this tool. 2. DISCONNECT FROM WIFI OR ETHERNET!!! 3. Open the modified iso in windows exploere(windows 10/11 can mount iso images without 3rd party software). 4. Run setup.exe and follow the upgrade steps. 5. Done. No need to involve rufus into something simple. You don't "mount" installation usbs. If you used rufus or similar software to put windows iso on a usb, you can simply run setup.exe from the usb. Or just use the usb for a clean install.
If you are trying to update a pc to run 24h2 with an unsupported processor (with no SSE 4.2) this tool could not help you. on the other hand, there is a Rufus thread here at MDL and you can post your issues there. [Update and Support] Rufus USB Tool
Thank you Thank you very much. Sorry English is not my first language so I made mistakes 1) I didn't mean mount I just meant insert into USB slot. Sorry 2) The bit I am struggling with is the first line "Modify a windows 11 iso of your choosing using this tool". I have the 24h2 ISO already but I don't know how to use the tool or where to get it. Is there a download link and or some instructional help to do this. All the rest I can do I think. Many thanks kind sir for help
You can simply extract or open the the fixed ISO (reommended option =1) in explorer and run setup.exe The tool is the subject of this thread and all download options are in the first post of this thread.
