Hi again Enthousiast!! Honestly, all I did was rename the folder, ran the script again, and it worked. I did it based on intuition. I hope this helps. Thx for your great work:
What would help is telling us what the folder name before was (it probably contained unsuported characters or a spacing) and what it is called now, now it works
Hi! How can I fix a Windows 11 26H2 ISO image if DISM shows multiple indexes in the `install.wim` file, but only one is available on boot? I’ve already tried adding `ei.cfg` and `PID.txt` files, but that didn’t help. Thanks in advance!
If the boot.wim only contains one index it is a very badly homebrew ISO. I don't know what you want to achieve with an ei.cfg or pid.txt, those are only for install, xxx.
@jekov this is what your ei.cfg should look like: You don't need pid.txt. If only one index gets installed out of multiple available in the iso, that means you most likely have a digital license in the bios and the installer picks up on it.
Sorry, I tried your code, but the result is the same. The screen selection of install.wim is missed in VirtualBox with option "Skip unattended install" Spoiler: index flag Details for image : D:\ModDistrib\tiny11\sources\install.wim Index : 1 Name : Windows 11 Pro En Description : Windows 11 Pro Size : 26 770 709 765 bytes Index : 2 Name : Windows 11 Pro Tiny Description : Windows 11 Pro Size : 25 469 095 615 bytes Details for image : D:\ModDistrib\tiny11\sources\boot.wim Index : 1 Name : Microsoft Windows PE (amd64) Description : Microsoft Windows PE (amd64) Size : 2 432 325 719 bytes Index : 2 Name : Microsoft Windows Setup (amd64) Description : Microsoft Windows Setup (amd64) Size : 2 542 863 514 bytes
The fixed code was for boot.wim missing index 1, but that was't the problem i guess. About the 2 indexes showing, why don't you just remove the Pro en index? and only leave the tiny index. ps, this seems not to be related to the boot & upgrade fix at all.
Because tiny is usually modified second installed language edition. I prepared with MSDN iso by PS of Windows-ISO-Debloater and its work fine. The issue after decide to experiment with Tiny11Builder-win-x64
I never use tiny anything, so i can't tell what the problem is, this: is not related to this fix, maybe if you can link me to the ISO i can try out some stuff to get it working, no promisess, please send me the link in private convo if you want me to check.
With any MSDN image of Windows 10/11, things are quite straightforward: once you’ve run the procedure using the Tiny11Builder-win-x64 and imported the index into install.wim, the installation selection option will disappear.
Then it's best to ask the tiny creator, i can't fix their stuff, i have better experience with VMWare and real hardware testing. One last advice from me would be to remove the ei.cfg the boot and upgrade fix added to the ISO.
It turned out that in Skip mode, VirtualBox not ignore any autounattend.xml files. The generated 'autounattend.xml file by tiny creator, contains the exact parameters(as you surmised), that force the installer to skip the setup selection menu : Code: <InstallFrom> <MetaData wcm:action="add"> <Key>/IMAGE/INDEX</Key> <Value>1</Value> </MetaData> </InstallFrom>
