    - Always use the latest version (v4.0 option 1 should work for upgrades)
    - The message is not related to this tool, try to upgrade by an iso with the generic ei.cfg onboard ("ISO/USB:\Sourcs\").

Hello, which option is recommended for unsupported hardware of build 26090.112.

    New installation not upgrade

Is it the recommended option 1 ?

    (OP)
Option 1 works when legacy setup is selected, option 2 works for both (or modern setup only, will test this now).

@stemic28 option 2 is working for both, modern and legacy setup with 26090.

    For Your Information

Decided the latest 24H2 version 26100.2 is my base version to use, as it looks like its stable enough for all my UNSUPPORTED computers to be used full time. Downloaded 26100.2, used "The Fix" Option 1 and no problems.

The key test was did it still allow upgrade and keep all my personal files and settings. Well YES!!!!!!!!!!. successfully upgraded from 23H2 without a problem.

So yet again very happy with all on this group and your work, cant thank you enough.

Miight be better to either upgrade the system or just simply run Enterprise 2019 LTSC or (IoT) Enterprise 2021 LTSC?

Tried Option 1 on my Haswell and it worked like a charm! Thank you @Enthousiast !

Well, this is an old system that I've made a few OS upgrades on. It still has some updates and probably unnecessary files from old Windows. I'm considering running 2 commands "DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth" and "sfc /scannow". Do you think this would remove the "fix" or should I rerun the fix to continue getting Windows Updates afterwards?

    Thanks!

Here is your problem. Your processor is too old, and will not support how Windows is now written. Every program in the new windows operating system must support POPCNT or it will not run. Like when 86 processors went the way of the dodo, your computer wont support 24H2. Get a second hand newer computer, or stick to 23H2. "The Fix" wont help you, no-one can.

THERE IS NO WORK AROUND FOR THIS.

"The Fix" allows the Windows to be loaded, THATS ALL. Once you have it loaded, you have the same Windows as everyone else, regardless of the age of the computer. That means you can play with Windows like normal, nothing is affected.

IE NO FIX TO REMOVE, NO UPDATES ARE AFFECTED

Quick question... Does this disable/stop BitLocker from being forced enabled on all drives? And if so, which option should we use going forward?

Reason being, Windows 11 24H2 encrypts all drives with BitLocker, regardless of if you're doing a clean install or a reinstall (upgrades don't seem to be forced)...

    Thanx :)

No, it bypasses the checks for tpm and the other win 11 hardware requirements.

In all my test installs bitlocker never did encrypt my drives, but i never use online accounts either.

Thanx for the reply... I'll have to use (that special USB ISO tool with an R) which has that option to remove/turn off forced BitLocker encryption on 24H2 clean/reinstall installations...

My computers with SSD's are running so slow and after research found out that it's BitLocker that is slowing SSD's down 45% because of it... So I'm most likely going to disable BitLocker on my main drive because I can barely do things without my computers hanging (feel like I using an old 90's tower computer)...

One of the articles mentioned that 24H2 enables BitLocker by default on all drives connected to computer when doing a clean installation or a reinstallation and that ISO (R) tool has the option to turn it off... So that's why I was asking...

    Thanx :)

Do you have a link to that article? maybe it also mentions that this only is for online accounts, where also onedrive is enabled to make backups and instantly ask for upgrades of the account.

I can't imagine that encryption is activated when you create a local offline account for Enterprise and Education

Getting off topic, BUT my understanding is Bitlocker requires a key (number) to be stored somewhere so if you do anything to your drives or software, you need the key to read the drive. Having an on-line account means its stored there by default, so what happens if you have a local off-line account. On all my 24H2 machines, bitlocker is not turned on. I wiould guess any "install of 24H2, if Bitlocker was being enabled on an off-line account, you would see it as the install would notify you with a key to write down. If so then dont like it, turn it off.
