@Enthousiast Is it possible to install on a MBR partition with this tool when using a UEFI (non CSM) system?
It is made for that, among other situations. Wait, MBR on a UEFI non CSM system? The tool enables you to install 11 on Legacy BIOS/MBR systems.
I am asking about a UEFI system. If I can not enable CSM Support in BIOS, can I install on a MBR partition?
The tool is made to do the install on unsupported systems (no tpm 2.0 andor uefi/secureboot available and such), it doesn't enable MBR partitioning or something, you need another disk manager or so for that, IF possible.
If you have a (only) UEFI (non CSM) system, you can install directly from iso with no modifications. on the other hand, UEFI systems can“t boot from MBR disk/partitions.
For MS, UEFI and GPT are couples, they do not allow creating and installing on MBR partitions if booted in UEFI mode, in the official installer. To my understanding, this is not a necessity in general, you might get away with third-party tools.
None of this is related to the tool nor the functioning of it. https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...it-v6-1f2-released.83724/page-97#post-1913602
It works and still allows me to upgrade to the latest versions and Insider builds from within VirtualBox 5.2.45, where some additional checks seem to be in place and where the traditional methods did fail. I'm always using 2a+b.
