i upgraded my old machine. it was running a bios slic - and it seems to be ok thus far. this pc - i wanted to finish my OC before doing a bios slic, so i used the Windows 7 loader it was fine, untill today - now i get a message saying it's not genuine. any way around this? bios slic? thanks guys
Have you by chance either let the PC hibernate or sleep? Sometimes some systems lose activation during them events in which case a restart fixes it. I would recommend installing the latest version if that's what you didn't use already and try one of the loaders other modes. Some systems may become deactivated based on the SLIC's location and switching these modes around can sometimes help. Also be sure a service is running, it's called Software Protection (sppsvc) and it should be set to Automatic (Delayed Start, Started).
i tried a reboot, no go. my problem currently, is the SLIC for my mobo (evga x58) - has an HP and a DELL slic listed, BUT - both links are broken........ i reallllllllllllllllllly dont feel like reinstalling....ugh..way way way too much to reinstall, lol any suggestions on what to do for the slic.
so i redid the loader/cert, rebooted without the genuine error checked the SPPSVC - wasnt running.... in services, it was set to "automatic (delayed start)" but wasnt running...so i started it...... hopefully that resolves it... is there a way to get the bios slic if the link is dead?
