Forget Win 7 on UEFI. It does NOT work in pure UEFI. At least on some Dell Vostro line CSM MUST be enabled for UEFI install of Win 7 to actually boot So just not worth the hustle, unless you must boot from > 2Tb drive (why?) And who gives a **** about XP on real hardware any more? sebus
Update on the Paragon tool. The GPT loader. Managed to source the app and tested it on Win XP.. It worked a treat. I was able to read from and write to my storage drives. I was able to access files on the other OS drives I have too. @ imgwhirl
i think i've found the reason. source: hxxp://neosmart.net/forums/showthread.php?t=8983 although i'm glad to have learnt adding ahci support to XP, after much research i cannot find a reference of ahci being mandatory for uefi. isn't that ahci just enable NCQ & hotswap in addition to what ide provide? why would uefi not work on ide?
Please re-check the date of this post - November 29th, 2011 That is 2.5+ years OLD post EasyBCD in version 2.2 works perfectly fine with GPT/UEFI sebus
