As someone stated with the 'get win 10 icon' will get upgrade but not necessary an activated win 10. Even My Win 8.1 VLK get the icon. I am not surprise I need to activate my W10 perhaps with KMS 7 ?. Remember the free 8.0 WMC key, not usable on W 8.1 WMC ! who know time will tell.

This is not a path to attain a license for Windows XP or Windows Vista systems. If your system upgraded from a Genuine Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 license it will remain activated, meaning if upgraded to win 10 rtm then opt you you will still be activated,no need to rollback to get activated.
You still aren't understanding what I said, I never mentioned what would happen if you activated and then dropped out, only if you dropped out and then wanted to activate. what I said: If you stay an insider you can upgrade to the final from W10. If you plan to opt-out you will need to go back to 8 and upgrade from there or buy a w10 key.. and ms says the same thing in what you quoted. oh I see what you are questioning, dropping back to windows 8. apparently you are right you won't have to do that.
why do you people make it so complicating by creating scenarii ? why don't you stay put and wait another two weeks ? it will then be much clearer to sort between opprtunities
