This has nothing to do with this project then as you stated....its a burn issue. Could be the burning software you are using, cheap media, too high of burn speed (lowest is recommended for M$ iso's), outdated firmware in dvd drive or drive going out. You will have to do trial and error to determine which. o_O

Could do a quick swap of medias from DVD (not cd) to USB. If it works there then you've got a dvd/software/burn issue.

Definitely not the burner, and im using Ultra ISO as requested on the HOW TO portion in page 1. Like i previously stated before i even burned a full ISO without the $OEM$ in the mix with success. Maybe someone cane post a better Step by step process.

ahhh more info....go into ultra iso settings/configuration and uncheck everything under save tab then hit ok. restart ultra iso and create your iso but this time I would advise using VMware or something similar for testing so not to waste dvd's. ;)

I have to do this every time for ultra iso for it to save iso format correctly...don't ask me why but leaving them default (checked) causes me issues. Might be the same in your case as well.

Okay have you tried burning just the $oem$?
Cause honestly only adding the $oem$ folder isn't going to crash the burner.

But saving as a corrupted iso could with some/most burning software. For some reason if I don't uncheck the recompile iso, my M$ iso's corrupt. Been this way for at least a year that I have owned ultra iso.

I can say with absolute certainty this $oem$ folder project isn't the problem. Something in your PC is wrong. Don't speculate anymore so try on another PC and you will see.;)

I've several MS ISO's that I have modified and saved with UltraISO backup .UIBAK on and I find it very helpful. Must be something else unless UI just hates you guys' setups.

    Greetings all.

Before I dig into 207 pages of info, I thought I'd ask first. How can I extract all the necessary and relevant files for this project from the OEM recovery partition on the HDD?
    Cheers.

What? You do not have to extract any files from your HDD for this project.
Just drop this projects $oem$ folder into the sources directory of a Windows Install Dvd, burn, boot, and install. OEM activated.

No offense taken. What I mean is how can I contribute my OEM's files so as to make the project grow.
So from a sharer's point of view, how should I go about it?

I gather all the goodies still reside in the recovery partition of the HDD, such as custom themes/wallpapers/logos/etc. (even after a clean install, as long as that partition wasn't harmed)
As well as the certificate and OEM:SLP key, in the case of Win7.

And I can extract the slic2.1 and in case of Win8 OEM-DM from the bios.

I think these should be all the relevant files? But how do I get to manipulate that recovery partition?
    Thanks for your patience.

This really does need a topic all to its own for this is about extracting not really using this project (even though I know you wish to share them which is fine). Every OEM machine uses a different method/software for creating their recovery partitions. Then it might also be locked so this gets quite in depth. This just isn't the thread for this conversation. If after you successfully extract the files then you can post them here in this thread to see if it gets added or not.

Thanks for the insight, I really thought it was relevant, didn't mean to hijack the thread :)
I don't have my hands on that ROG partition I'm after, YET :D But who knows the next few days...

    Cheers.
