Ok my Asus shows the right thing now. Branded correctly I mean. Now what iF SLIC is not detected? Will this brand all non OEM machines ASUS? Have you considered added a fail safe that if no OEM is detected, then your tool will not run?

Any chance you could include VMWare in the project or tell me how to manually add it?

No it will not brand all non OEM machines 'ASUS'... 1st wmic checks scan for system info (model, name, baseboard, etc) and apply theme if successful match from those checks... 2nd wmic checks for SLIC to apply activation... if no SLIC, it would still apply theme if 1st check successful, or no theme if nothing successful.

Sorry, I don't include any 3rd party software, regtweaks, etc, in the project... purely OEM branding and activation.

add vmware folder to OEM's folder:

replace oemscan.ini file (searchengine's updated file for ASUS boards) with this one that includes vmware:

You will have to use windows loader by Daz which you can find here at this forum for activation, for vmware is not a oem. Read the readme.txt file included with windows loader by Daz to add silent activation of windows loader in a setupcomplete.cmd file. The setupcomplete.cmd file will need to be added to location with the oobe.cmd and oemscan.ini files along with the windows loader by Daz.
I have done this with mine in order to test and use with windows loader in vmware. Hope this helps you. Have a good day.

Maybe you should put modified version of searchengine project as part of the name so others dont get confused.
Plus it is always good to mention a thank you to the creator of the original project (searchengine).
    Just my opinion.

Should I replace with the Asus stuff you sent me in the new release or is the default Asus?

The 'new release' uses 'Acer' serials as default.

The 'default' serials are determined on the 'oemscan.ini' DEFAULTOEM entries... those serials can be any brand you want, they are only used if no matching brand found from wmic checks, or if a matched brand was found but had no leaked serial, then the DEFAULTOEM serial would be used.

The 'oemscan.ini' I sent you, is 'DEFAULTOEM' entries edited with 'Asus' serials as default.
