Win 8.x • Win 7 • Vista - 'Multi-OEM' ISO Project

I downloaded the AIO-Win7-DVD-Activation-[incl.Loader].7z file. Unzipped it. Copied the $oem$ folder in the sources directory. Deleted ei.cfg. Created the ISO and tried installing Win 7 ultimate in VirtualBox. The loader should've worked. But When I go to start > computer > system settings. I see the ASUS logo but at the bottom I see "3 days left for automatic activation". When I click "Activate now", I get an error message saying - "This key is invalid for activation".

I ran magic jellybean key finder in Win 7 to get the installed key. It was the correct key that oobe.cmd script installs during Win 7 installation. So why isn't the loader working?

Well for some reason the loader has not been installed but looks like it thought you have acer oem machine and obviously it wont activate because you don't have acer SLIC 2.1 in virtual box bios.

Hmm. I used that one while testing my ISO and it (Daz's loader) worked like a charm in my VirtualBox. Does the working of the loader in VirtualBox depend on having a 2.1 SLIC in the BIOS of the PC?

Thanks for the info; i burned a dvd with the $OEM$; can some-one tell me how i can see AFTER installing this Windows 7 on a PC if slic is used or slic AND loader; how can i see that a loader is placed on my system?

 

You can probably open systempartition and have a look..

Both wont get "installed".. cert+key is always installed but the loader part is only installed if there's no slic 2.1 in bios..

 

@urie, I went through searchengine's script. What it does is, by default, it uses Acer's SLP keys + cert. If it does find a SLIC compatible BIOS, it uses the specific OEM SLEP key + cert. It uses the bootloader in combination with the Acer SLP key + cert when it finds that the BIOS doesn't have SLIC. This is exactly what it does when I run the modified ISO inside VirtualBox. After fiddling around I figured that the loader was being ignored for some reason. So I manually installed DaZ's loader and it worked fine.

@searchengine, I will give that link a try and report back. But it should work.

@nipun, no. VirtualBox uses a completely emulated BIOS. So whatever OS you load inside the VM doesn't know what physical BIOS you have on your actual machine. Hence, inside VB, we need the loader (which was failing in my case with the original script that searchengine posted).

 

Wokay. I used the link with Daz's Loader inside. Worked perfectly (the loader).
