Sure, here's the link, but I have not tested it with the latest 17763.402 update and again, be aware of driver-related differences.
I don't mean to sound totally ignorant of things, and just for the record I was an alpha tester of Nlite many years ago (not NTLite) so I'm well versed in stripping out a lot of the unnecessary gunk so when I ask this question it's because I'm wondering something: Does using all of these tweaks and stripping out a few things here and there really make that much of a difference with LTSC considering how lean and fast it already is by default? I've been using LTSC 2019 (17763.379) for about two weeks now and it's blazing fast for me already on an older HP EliteBook Folio 9470m with just 8GB of RAM and a Samsung 860 EVO SSD. I mean, I'm all for tweaks if they make an actual difference in terms of performance, or if they're gutting out unnecessary aspects related to privacy/telemetry (as some of these seem to be doing), but from a seriously realistic performance perspective, are any of you actually noticing something unique about it after you gut it even more than it already is? Just curious, honestly, because if I can make it work even better then I'm game for it, but I have to figure there's got to be a point where the tweaks are somewhat self-defeating. "How fast is fast?" is a question I've been asking OS tweakers for many years now, it's still a relevant question.
Removing most of the components from the offline image doesn't really improve performance, it's just an OCD thing for some people (including myself partly), the performance improvement comes from the fact that the removed UWP apps don't run in the background, not because of the removal itself. I personally have my list of LTSC 2019 components that i know are 100% safe to remove in my usage case, removing them doesn't break file integrity and Cumulative Updates won't bring them back because i remove them in a clean way (provisioned registry keys in the offline install.wim). The biggest performance improvement you can get is when you either remove or disable SecHealthUI (Windows Defender) with all it's related services, such as Windows Defender Security Center and also fully disable SmartScreen.
For me it's not so much about performance gain, I just can't stand all the crap that a unmodified Windows install comes with. It can be disabled or removed after installing Windows but I find it more convenient to modify the installation source. NTLite does a really good job and the developer is constantly updating it to be compatible with newer Windows versions and insider builds. The support is great and reported issues gets fixed fast usually. You don't have to bother looking up which updates you should download, with one click it will detect which updates you should get and offer you to download and integrate them. With my current preset I haven't run into any issues, everything seems to work fine. I don't install updates on a live system, I reinstall once per month usually so I check if there is any new updates, integrate them and use my preset to remove things before reinstall.
Would you be willing to share your configs and reg files for this? I would really like to take a look at it and adopt it to my needs. Thanks.
@PsychedelicShaman Can you share the list of Apps/packages/components you have removed? Did you run SFC after and get any errors? I just removed some stuff myself using MSMG Toolkit v9.2 on LTSC 2019 v17763.107 and everything seems to be working fine, with no errors after running SFC! Here's what I removed: - AssignedAccessLockApp - BioEnrollment - MapControl - ParentalControls - PeopleExperienceHost - QuickAssist - RetailDemoContent - SkypeORTC - AssignedAccess - CustomerExperienceImprovementProgram (CEIP) - EdgeDevToolsClient - FaceRecognition - GameExplorer - InternetExplorer - LocationService - Paint - SmartScreen - SnippingTool - UnifiedTelemetryClient - WindowsDefender - WindowsMediaPlayer - WindowsMixedReality - WindowsPhotoViewer - WindowsReaderPDF - XboxApp - XboxGameCallableUI I plan on removing some extras if possible/necessary but I'm not sure if they will break the OS, thus why I'm asking you what you removed. Thanks!
