Yes, I'm inquiring specifically about Windows 10 2015 LTSB. Not 2016 or any of the newer Win10 versions. This is a requirement for specific software. Does anyone know which AMD and/or Nvidia driver versions work for 2015 LTSB? I've tried several for both and they all say "unsupported operating system". I know this is expected behavior. I'm just wondering if there is a much older driver version that works. I've tried many already. Thanks if you have any helpful info!
Short answer just use win8.1 or win 7 drivers if available. Longer answer, many W10 drivers are working, but are artificially blocked, just edit the inf, and disable the signature enforcement to install them. That said the mileage varies depending the maker and the specific video card.
I posted the below quote on another thread a long time ago, but I'll repaste it here. I no longer run LTSB 2015 myself as I found too many games not working on it at this point. I do miss how lightweight it was though. I have moved on to using the Slimdown10 script found here on mydigitallife...... ""Kinda old thread and this may or not be useful for people, but I prefer to use LTSB 2015. I'm using an HD7750 GCN 1.0 PCI-E card. Through lots of trial and error I have found the newest AMD drivers that will work correctly are Adrenalin 18.3.3, then install 18.3.4 on top of the 18.3.3 drivers. So far in gaming these drivers work fine and do support Vulkan 1.1. Any AMD drivers newer then this either don't fully work properly (GPU-Z shows 0MHz clock speeds) or simply black screen during installation and then never show Windows again until removed using safe mode. Hope this helps that one person somewhere. ""
or just continue using regular Windows 10 Pro until its end of life and wait for Professor Abbodi to create bypass ESU LTSC
On Asus N752VX with nvidia gtx950m on LTSB 2016 I was able to install 474.06 as latest (any 5xx.xx is out of the question as far as I understand). However upon updating to the latest cumulative update (or anything beyond 2018-05) I wasn't able to boot unless I deactivated the signature enforcement at boot. LTSB 2016 and 2015 are very similar as far as I understand (minus the .net version).
you need to disable driver policy Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\CI\Config] "VulnerableDriverBlocklistEnable"=dword:00000000
The last working Nvidia driver on Windows 10 2015 LTSB is Later drivers either crash frequently or do not work at all.
The rule of thumb, is pretty simple. Any VGA that has official win7/8/8.1 drivers, works surely on 2015, either using W10 drivers or drivers meant for 7/8/8.1 Then there are VGAs that are artificially limited on 2015 or even newer versions. Those are pretty easy to install as well, just editing the inf. Then there are newer VGAs that really don't work on older W10s, even with modded inf. If you want to stay safe just use the first group.
