opting completely out of insider, in my mind should also wipe the HWID from their DB, but I highly doubt they remove HWID's. Maybe flag it as no longer insider, but doing the opt out as MS suggests you will need to be like everyone else with a valid 7 or 8x upgrade to get your activation without insider. you can completely remove the HDD and replace with another one and it will still have your HWID since it take the vast majority of it from Mobo.
I think the insider activation is a little different. If you opt out of the program I think it removes the insider hardware. If you upgrade it should stick for the lifetime of your machine. We don't know exactly. I don't think anyone has actually tested opting out of the program after having it activate their machine without upgrading.
I've just did it, from the site and from WU. Let's see how it goes until wednesday. So far, still activated.
Since the reinstall, I'm no longer receiving insider builds. I get no option to stop as it isn't started.
I noticed this as well. They still "think" you're an insider even though you it's stopped. The hardware is what they're tracking.
Yes! I will wait out. One of my machines was upgraded from genuine 7. The other one in another hand was upgrade to 7 genuine HB >> Windows 8.1 KMS MAK >> 10240 with the generic key 3V66T. I have at least one year to go back to original and snatch my ISO. This is coming from someone who loves starting from 0.
I wouldn't exactly be shocked if it happened, but I don't think it will. Seems like they're really trying to get as many ppl as possible onto win10.
Most of my stuff are on OneDrive, so i have to login with an MSA, so i can't remove any of "My Devices". I think M$ big catch will be Redstone, by then we wouldn't be able to use the free upgrade, so they can't take away our devices or time-bomb them. And THE RAIN lol i don't mind, just a reminder to M$ close your eyes when i'm on porn.
