Since we are all talking about activation here..I upgraded from windows 8.1 on my laptop to windows 10..and did a clean install of it and this is what it says when I go into cmd prompt typed in slmgr /xpr and this time it says "Windows professional edition..the machine is permantely activated when I type in slmgr /dlv this time it says this...name: Windows Professional Edition..Description..Windows Operating System..RETAIL channel..product key channel..retail..license status..Licensed..remaining windows ream count..1001..remaining SKU ream count..1001 there is some other stuff but I dont know how to pass the output never done that before when I type in slmgr /dli it says..name windows professional edition..description..Windows Operating System..RETAIL Channel..License Status..Licensed..Partial Product Key..and it has the five characters so just want to be sure that means I am permantely activated..When I installed Windows 8.1 I activated it doing the phone activation method
Ok I will do that..with slmgr /xpr it says "Windows professional edition..the machine is activated Is that the one that obviously matters the most not sure why the /dlv says something different, it says licensed just wasn't sure why it has other info along with it. I will copy and paste it here
Now you are talking, @Slave. Actually the "permanent" is just to differentiate from the KMS 180 days. The Preview builds also display "permanent".
Ok so this is what it says when I do slmgr /dlv Windows Script Host --------------------------- Software licensing service version: 10.0.10240.16384 Name: Windows(R), Professional edition Description: Windows(R) Operating System, RETAIL channel Activation ID: Application ID: Extended PID: Product Key Channel: Retail Installation ID: Bunch of numbers, I guess I wont be inserting that Use License URL: Validation URL: Partial Product Key: License Status: Licensed Remaining Windows rearm count: 1001 Remaining SKU rearm count: 1001 Trusted time: 7/25/2015 7:20:11 PM So bottom line, am I good? I never used to be this into checking would only check by going into settings and checking system settings and it says windows 10 pro activated but with everyone talking about activation just want to be sure
Great! I appreciate you letting me know. Just wasn't sure why the other stuff was also included a friend of mine told me it read like a kms activator and that it didnt sound permanent to him but glad that this looks good..does everyone else who has theirs permanently activated have the same thing?
