Old age, lol Spoiler I know I'm getting old... the other day I walked past a cemetery and two guys attacked me with shovels.
The 3.02GB ESD file was successful, but the 4.07GB ISO file failed at 2.4GB The ESO file was DL on one PC, and The ISO file was DL on a second machine. Both machines Win7, and I had cleared the power save checkbox on both. Guess I will try the DL from the same machine I did the successful ESO DL. ..... and look into that resume feature. On one of my DL attempts, when the DL hit the crap-out point, I saw a pop-up message. It was there for about 3 seconds, I couldn't get to the PrntScrn button in time. I couldn't read it well because I think there was an acronym involved. I think there was also a fast moving progress bar involved. Then the DL stopped. Sure wish I could have got a screen capture on that.
Results of sfc /scannow CBS.log = Says access denied. I opened Notepad as admin, and it let me in. Lots of stuff there. What should I be looking for? Check SUR.log = No Errors Check SUR.persist.log = No Errors Filters.log = Not much info here. No mention of errors. Let me know if you want me to post it.
If elevated cmd means run command prompt as admin, I did. Results: FINDSTR: Argument missing after /c
It seems i've mistyped, there was a spacing to many: Code: findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log >"%userprofile%\Desktop\sfcdetails.txt"
Can't post images here yet. Yes, it found something. Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them. Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log
Ok, I have the info in readable in Notepad. Lots of stuff. I have a saved txt file. What and how do I post.
One time, it happens to me with a HDD and some bad sectors. Some write failure on large files. Another time, I've tried to download or copy the large file on USB sticks, stupid idea, it was formated in FAT32...
I see I need 20 posts to display an image. I'm almost there. It appears the image must located at a url. What's the best approach for that? Where a good place to go for the friendlies host?
It's a txt file, if there are any mentionable lines inside just copy/paste between "code" tags. And to show cmd window, just rightclick the white bar above and click "edit" and "select all", next rightclick it again and select "copy", paste it on the forum with "code" tags. For pics, just use imgur.com and leave https out of the url and paste here (untill you have post permission).
I ran sfc /scannow again. This time is said: Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For exampleC:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log I'll see what I can find. Edit: I have the log files from both runs in .txt format. If it is a good thing to do, I believe I can attach them to my post. Point of interest. We may be getting off track here a bit. This scan and log file are from a PC that has been heavily used since it's OS install in (I think) 2015. It came up with errors. My second PC, with a fresh OS install, also would not do the ISO DL, and it's scan came up clean. So the problems found in the scan log file probably won't help the DL problem.
LloydP, I was just thinking if your download goes through on other computer, and you burn ISO to disk or USB Stick, then you can put that on both computers, start fresh go from there. You need to re-familiarize with DAZ's Loader as you will have to use it just 1 time until you get HWID (Hardware ID) It's in Quick Links Thread For the heck of it: Try In ADMIN Cmd Prompt Type Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth When you use the /CheckHealth argument, the DISM tool will report whether the image is healthy, repairable, or non-repairable. If the image is non-repairable, you should discard the image and start again. If the image is repairable, you can use the /RestoreHealth argument to repair the image. Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth Press enter on keyboard, wait for it to finish Sorry if I'm hit or miss, I raking out in yard
