Very cool! Freeware and Open Source? Under Win 10 I am using Ashampoo WinOptimizer for the time being... Loads of options there, as well...
OK, thanx, I will try... Is it OK - if I succeed - to continue as described from step 3 onward, please? Or I misunderstood?
Btw, given that I haven't yet seen what you have removed, because I haven't yet succeeded, so I don't know what the finished product would look like - if I may ask... From what little I see is being downloaded during this operation - it seems like there is lot more bloatware left, from the Store onwards... If one really wants MS Store one can DL it and install whatever else from it, non? There were W10 versions (Ent) without all that, right? Most of us don't play Solitaire or need an additional clock or lots of other stuff - like Edge, given we use mostly Firefox and Tor, maybe Brave etc. Or who uses Bing, MS Maps and many other apps...? That would deffo speed things up and open up more space... That is, IF you haven't removed it... which I don't know for sure as of now, so apologies if I am knocking on an open door here... P.S. It's running, without the AV SW and we'll see tomorrow if... P.P.S. Anyone know if Office 2021 Pro (either version) can be made so we can choose which apps are installed - or is this all strictly cloud based, so the apps are minimal anyhow and it all goes online during usage?
Ah, two things: 1) Language is Eng US, not UK... but that can be remedied afterward... 2) One can't choose between various W11 versions... Pro is installed (not bad!)... Otherwise, it's working... As presumed, some bloatware is present (Store, Edge, Outlook new, OneDrive) but it's much better than the full-on MS cr@p version... Also, the Search button in the Taskbar gets you the MS Internet (Bing) stuff, whereas if you want only Windows searched > go to Settings and search there...
All right, @pm67310, thanks for everything and a superb tool! If you don't understand that advanced set of English vocabulary, drop the dictionary and remember these ones::"I owe you one."
The second one I haven't yet tested but it's on the agenda. Rufus does not give multiple choices when installing from a-many-Win-versions-ISO... I mentioned it already.
I worked with 23H2 and it seems to be working... However, the multiple choices screen (of Win versions mentioned above) - one doesn't get... But the issue now is: which method of removing the bloatware is better, to really get rid of Cortana and all that MS blues...???
M8, would it be possible to make a no-bloat "base" - but multiple version W11 choice, with the various additional languages included as well, please? I would follow the advice given here and go for the Education N version but with EN-GB lingo, for instance...
Tested on 23h2 spanish iso, the window version screen works, all is working fine Thanks for this fine work
I tested myself with Rufus. I still had the Microsoft account information prompt. Even tried again after updating Rufus to the latest version. Do you think it wasn't working because I was installing over a previous Windows 11 install that was stuck on the Microsoft account prompt? I'll try again tonight after formatting the M2 drive and try fresh.
That's what brought me to this thread but it seems since I didn't delete the existing partitions, the drive formatted by Rufus appeared not to work with the bypass option selected. After deleting the partitions and starting fresh, Rufus worked fine. I don't mean to derail but using Rufus is one click opposed to finding software without meg limits to rebuild an ISO.
