Secure Boot was never enabled. It is disabled by default.

All it shows in my boot menu is the AHCI SSD drive, and the USB PNY drive.

I'm going to have to reinstall again, though. I have absolutely no permissions, and I can't save anything to my disk. Changing security settings does nothing.

I'll try to take a picture of the boot menu with my phone. Not sure how clear it will be, though. I just need to set up a new USB drive for windows install.

If you select the USB and then click configure does it give any options relating to EFI? I would expect it to offer something.

You could format and continue to try WindSLIC as you say you're activated now but just need to fix the permission issues.

Hitting configure just brings me into the bios.

I'm gonna reinstall again. I deleted the bootmgr.efi

Should I delete the efi folder as well?

If you deleted bootmgr.efi then it may not install as GPT now and you'll instead need to use Windows Loader. That's fine though.

The EFI folders there on 32-bit versions of Windows 7 so I'd recommend keeping it.

It worked! I reinstalled and deleted the bootmgr.efi. I'm now installed, activated, and have all permissions. Thanks so much.

Yeah. It's very intuitive for overclocking, but it isn't very flexible for anything else. Now I finally get to overclock tomorrow. :)

    Hi all!

Just want to say thanks to everyone who helped Droogie with this problem. I had similar problem and this solved it. You guys are amazing!

Little details: friend bought Acer E1-532 laptop with EFI BIOS and I had so much hard time activating Windows 7 Ultimate on it. No matter how many times I pre-partitioned HDD, Windows installation somehow always figured out there were MBR partitions and since it was EFI boot, it couldn't be installed blablabla...

The solution was to delete bootmgr.efi from DVD root. Thanks again to all of you!!

P.S. For those who cannot install from USB, use UltraISO to alter .iso image (delete bootmgr.efi), then save it as another .iso image and burn it do DVD.

P.P.S. Shouts to Daz and his Loader - it saved me hundreds of times!
