A few months ago I updated to windows 7 with an OEM disk given to me by a friend. It was validated and working fine until today. My computer is left on 24/7 for the most part. I was out running errands and returned to see the deactivation had occurred. My Dell came with Vista, but I hated it at the time and downgraded to XP. I did a clean win7 install after SUCCESSFULLY flashing BIOS to 2.1 slic from 2.0, and ran all of the correct Dell stuff (OEM key, certificate, etc). As I said, things were fine until today. What happened? How can I fix this? So I tried a couple of other OEM keys just for giggles, none of them worked either.*
I didn't see anything that said BETA on the disk nor on my system. I avoid BETA releases of anything in general. But if this is the case, how can I tell and how do I fix the problem?
That did the trick! Thanks soooo much! So, out of curiosity, what happened exactly? Is there something preventative I need to look out for in the future?
