Hi, as I'm some sort of newcomer on this forum I'll immediately ask for a help. I have major a issue within process of activating Win7/Vista-Ultimate(or any other version) with any loader(just won't activate), so I presume that the problem lies in SLIC. As I am at the moment not so experienced with these things and don't want to kill my BIOS-PC I ask you for help in giving me specific guidelines-walkthroughs. REally thank you for your time in forward.
Based on experiences what was the more effective method for HP's SLIC/CErtificates or raw BIOS mods??
SLIC Dump Toolkit has failed to dump my SLIC table Dump Error ! (SLIC Table Not Find ! ) -- as message implies ACPI says 2.0 which means modding or maybe wrong info is displayed ?? What now? What are the chances for killing machine from experiences in such upgrades (2.0->2.1)??
You can try finding "Everest Ultimate Edition ver 5.02.1815 Beta", then when you click on Motherboard & then on ACPI, Then on Slic:Software Licensing Description Table............It will show your Slic ver. See attached image. As far as Killing your machine: My Best Advice = Read all you can on this forum & learn (All Info is here on this forum). Absorb it all.................Then you make your decision on how to proceed.
I have a HP 6730b, the bios is SLIC, I installed win 7 OEM and no prob for instant activation with HP OEM cert + Dell ultimate key. Working since 10/20/2009.
The chances for killing machine from experiences are rare if you are using official bios, you have to update to the latest before checking, your existing one (if not yet upgraded) may be a 2.0 stuff, just stupid to put any effort to check.
So to conclude, all I need to do is to upgrade my BIOS officially from HP's site so to have 2.1 from 2.0??
What if it doesn't show me SLIC? Again, what if I don't have SLIC table in my BIOS? IN details, please.
Just follow HP's instruction to flash, it should show you the slic version using either everest or dump tool (in the sticky).
