    Still square tiles, I'm sure that sooner or later they will decide to follow Google, and they will start making them round.

    Nah, the Interactive Live Tiles of Metro2 requires the tiles to be square/rectangular. :p

    Would be nice if they just made the tile's background transparent - will take away the squareness... just looks gross the way it is.

    Actually with the live tiles now in win8/8.1, I think it would look awkward to have mail notifications, calendar items etc to be displayed inside a circle. Metro2 would have more tile functions, and you couldn't "scroll" in a circular tile. :p
