hopefully i have hd5450 and realtek, no problems with drivers so far. still need an activation, my luck was KMS servers are offline
Anybody needs chip set drivers 12-6_vista_win7_32-64_sb work perfect tested on asus crosshair v formula & amd fx 8120 overclocked @ 4.51
So, they trashed ATI HD 4870X2 ? Obsolete gfx card? ...Windows 8 is out and therefore you have to buy their brand new $350 HIS 7950! Heck, no more money from me AMD! Well, fu*k you!
I don't really take sides when it comes to these cards i always go for bang for buck ? But the 4870X2 has been going strong from 2008 when it first came out and it's not making any money these day also brands need to focus on next gen gear whats even faster but you should see what about some really good deals new or second hand plus don't need to spend $350 also just looked on newegg they have 126 cards for a $100 to $200
I did, HD 5470 on Win 8 PRO X64 1. h ttp://img28.imageshack.us/img28/627/91716369.png 2. h ttp://img442.imageshack.us/img442/3886/82614948.png Just download the drivers (win 7 x64/86) from official support page whatever that is, before setup set compatibility "Windows 7" and it's done.
JustNicky, the problem is that my 4870X2 can still beat the crap out of most demanding games today. I'm sick and tired of their bulls**t. Well, at least nVidia has a decent customer support.
I know how you feel touch wood never had any problem apart from motherboards they are just as bad also just for a simple bios chip for the asus crosshair v formula taken around a month also keep an eye for modded software from Russia for your drivers they are always working on drivers for outdated stuff ..
Same problem here. I sold my ATI's and will switch to Nvidia. Even my sis old GT 7600 can use the latest Nvidia drivers! Bye bye AMD
Jeez, do I really have to hear the same thing every time a new version of Windows comes out? Vista came out, old cards (both ATI AND nVidia) were no longer supported. Heck, even an nVidia card that was supported in some of their beta Vista drivers were dropped when the final drivers were available; I think it was a 5200 (one of the FX ones, yes I know they generally sucked, I just wanted the bare minimum that Vista required so I bought a $15 card). I had to keep using the beta driver v9x.xxx as long as I used that PC, which luckily was only for a year or two. But guess what, it worked. Even played games on it. I have a 4850, bought it in May of 2009, and it works great under Windows 8 Enterprise x64 RTM with the Windows 7 drivers from v12.6 for the 4xxx series. If yours doesn't, either live with it, no one's forcing you to upgrade to Windows 8, or buy a new card. You're lucky they support your card for 3-4 years.
I'm looking for information about editing the driver reg-file or something like that to fool Windows 8 into thinking this driver is for Win8 (instead of for Win7). My HDCP (small case pentium-4) has a ATI Diamond video card (9250PCI 256MB ) and I'm on Win8 Pro 32bit. The current driver on the manufacturer is Win7 : Windows 7 32bit DRIVER Ver.6.2 2011-06-08 Scroll to bottom of this page : diamondmm.com/amd-radeon-9250pci-256mb-ddr-s9250pci256.php Right now, the only driver that Win8 can install is the Basic Microsoft Driver. No success doing Manual/Force install of a win7 driver. As follows: If I do : extract driver to folder, the MANUAL driver update, point to Folder, ...etc... Windows8 will complain past mid-way through: Error... Driver installation was unsuccessful because of an error , ...blah...blah...
well, i managed to update my switchable hd 4000 series notebook ati to 11.2 by pointing to folder and have disk option. Screen turned black and after a reboot it was installed. Problem is that switching to intel stopped working, so no better than what comes with win 8.
